ugh, hi. I have a very swollen upper right eyelid as well. I can barely open my eye and both my eyelid and eye are very red and hurt a lot! so much that I've had a headache since this started yesterday morning. It hurts to blink or touch it and my vision in that eye is very blurred. I have naturally very big eyes, so this is really embarrassing to not be able to open one and have it be so swollen and gross looking. PLEASE HELP!  :-(%-):$

I developed the same problem about almost 3 months ago. It was both eyelids though. After insisting getting an appointment with an ophthalmology consultant just over a week ago, I was prescribed a strong steroid eye drop and an anti hestamine. After 3 days, the swelling started going down and now a week after starting this treatment, my eyes are almost 'normal'.

My top eyelid was swollen  pretty bad two weeks ago.It got so bad it swelled shut as well.During this I also had a sinus infection so I went to the doctors but he said my eye was to severe for it to be caused by the sinus infection. He checked my eye and there was no discharge or sty or anything that would indicate why my eyelid was so severly swollen. It was almost swelled to the size of a golfball. He gave me antibiotics and nasal spray for my sinus infection and sent me home.Said he wasnt sure about my eye but to ice it to help the swelling go down.Im now done the antibiotics and the swelling in my eye is gone but my eyelid is not puffy and Iam left with an achey feeling in the browbone of that eye.Now Im worried my eyelid swelling could be from a thyroid or a cardiac problem..anyone else have something similar to this??

My eye is the same and its even my left eye too!! What I did was get a tea bag (herbal) boiled it in water for 1 min. And then put it in the freezer for 3 min. I then put the tea bag on my swollen eye for 10-15 min. The swelling went away for a while. But do it for about 3 days

I have the same problem with a swollen eye lid that goes from light pink to dark pink. I have had it for over a month though. I'm in the process of getting another doctor, so I have to put up with it for about another week. You said that there is no specific treatment for viral conjunctivitis. Are there different forms of conjunctivitis? Many years ago, I had conjunctivitis and my doctor prescribed eye drops called "Opthamolic Solution" and my problem went away. However, I also had redness in my eye. This time I don't. I just visited a quack doctor and he told me I didn't have Conjunctivitis and said I had to go to a Dermatologist, even though I told him my insurance does not cover specialists. He didn't seem to care and offered no other solution. That's why I'm looking for another doctor right now. However, my eye is really getting on my nerves. Do you have any suggestions or solutions for me? Thank you.

hello. a few nights back, i woke up from a bad dream and accidentally hit something on the side of my bed directly on my eye. the next morning, i woke up with a slight black eye but wasnt very noticeable. it has been about a week or two since then and my eye is a little swollen but shutting a little. i have had problems with that eye as a child (lazy eye) its kind of scary to me to look in the mirror and have one eye half open. i have hyper thyroids and high blood pressure by the way. idk if that has anything to do with it. i feel like its been too long since my little midnight accident to continue how it is.

My left eye has been swellen on.and off since nov of 2010. I was diagnosed with lupus. My eye stills swell on and off. I went to an eye doctor, but didnt see any problems, so im.assuming it has something to do with the inflammation of my disease.
