When I was in China and visited a Traditional Chinese Medicine... practitioner? Doctor? What do you call them? They were quick to give me a lecture about the theoretical basis of TCM. Very interesting, but do you think that this is a joke by modern standards? I did get a bag of herbal stuff, but I don't think I will ever use that.
While I would not use the same language and call Traditional Chinese Medicine a "joke" - as it was used for centuries and worked well when they didn't have other possibilities - I do think that Traditional Chinese Medicine has now been surpassed, as shown by the fact that modern western medicine is the main form of medicine anywhere in the world now.
