Today, I felt like something was in the right side of the back of my throat. It felt like a piece of food was stuck back there, so I tried to move my tongue around and use it to get the "food" out. But I found nothing and could not get it out. After a while of being annoyed by the feeling in my throat, I got a small flashlight and tried to look for what was causing the problem. I opened my mouth as wide as it would go, and looked down into my throat using a mirror. At the very bottom of where I could see in my throat, I saw this generally big whitish-pinkish thing sticking out of my throat. I was terrified and I had no idea what it was. I thought maybe it was a bone that I've just never been able to see before, but I wasn't sure and the "food" feeling is still annoying me. Does anyone know what it might be?

I just had that happen two weeks ago. It annoyed me all day to the point I bought some Chloroseptic spray to numb the feeling. I thought it was food as well. I mentioned it to the doctor when I took my daughter in for a check up and she told me it was most likely my tonsils. She said it you eat too salty of foods or are getting sick, your tonsils can enlarge temporarily and touch the back of your throat, causing that feeling. She also said if it doesn't go away in a couple days you may need to see a doctor to have them checked out for other reasons they may be enlarged. My throat was fine the next day, just drink lots of ice water or suck on ice chips to bring the swelling down and numb the feeling. I hope it works out.
