Sounds like the cramping on one side is ovulation and/or ovarian cysts. If this gets worse, please have it checked by a doctor. Novasure does not stop ovulation, that is until you go through menopause. I too have had early menopause after having Novasure. I have not had a period since the procedure, 3 years ago and when I had this year's checkup, blood work revealed I had completed menopause (completely post-menopausal), yet I am still have moderate to severe symptoms.

I had and Ablation in March 2013, 1 year later I am now starting menopause I am 47 My leaves were perfect before the surgery, I know this is the cause. so sad

I had my ablation in 2006....it is now 2014 and I was just confirmed today that I am premenopausal. I am looking for how to know when I go from perimenopause to menopause. I don't think your ablation is the cause....I think you were starting perimenopause making your periods heavy, hence requiring an ablation. At 47, it's time.

I also had mine done when I was 32 (now 35) , and in the last year I have had mood swings, irritability, and the night hot flashes. I'm not a dr or nurse, but I think the medical community needs to look at this. If all of us are complaining of these symptoms, there has to be some truth to it.

Hi. I am 48 and had a Thermal Ablation in 2009 due to period bleeding from February until May of that year. I have always had horrible periods. For the last couple of years I have had a few hot flashes. The doctor's tests said I was premenopausal. Now in 2014 of June I am having full out hot flashes and night sweats, rapid heartbeat, changes in body smell - like vinegar under the breasts - and dizziness and nausea. I also have Fibromyalgia and some Arthritis. I have Chronic Fatigue, Migraines, and Celiac Disease, and IBS. Needless to say this makes all these other illnesses worse!! I know that this can go on for several years. The bad thing is that I won't ever have a child to show for it!!! Good luck with all of your hot flashes and yucky stuff!!

My personal guess is that yes, this surgery leads to menopause. But, is that so bad?

I had a Thermal Ablation 18 years ago. I was told by my gynocologist I was only the 3rd or 4th having this procedure done. I am now about to turn 67. I was to have a tumor removed from my ovary & the doctor asked if I would like to have the Ablation done to stop my periods & getting straight through menopause this would be the way to go. He said he had very good results with the other few he has done. No known side effects, and definitely did not mention weight gain. I weighed 115 lbs, I was 48 at the time and my weight rarely flutuated. Since then my weight has ballooned to 100 lbs more and so much belly fat it's embarrassing. Over the 18 years I didn't make the connection, but after reading all the posts I feel this may have been the cause. I have tried every diet from Nutrisystem, Weight Watchers, pills, drinks and of course healthy eating with little exercise and find I may lose 10 lbs, then regain it without changing what I'm doing at the time. I have felt as though I was just a "big fat slob", and it is depressing. I am grateful that I found others who are going through the same. I never should have had the procedure done, since other than the tumor which was removed, and gone through menopause naturally. I'd probably still be at a "normal" weight. Now that I realize what this procedure can do, I would not recommend it to anyone unless totally necessary.

I am 35 and I had my tubes tied, and had an ablation 2 years ago. I had no idea that it could cause so many symptoms. I have heart palpitations, depression, anxiety is through the roof, and I am so up and down with my emotions. I am pretty sure it's kicked in the premenapause. I'm going to talk to my doc about both. I feel your pain and know what your going through.. Keep me posted on what the doc says!

I also gained weight following my ablation but I put this down to the two injections I had prior to the surgery. It was to help shrink my fibroids and make it easier for the surgeon, this was what I was told. I got very puffy around the face, my hair got even thinner and more fragile (it's fine anyway but I had to cut it shorter) and I gained weight in my boobs and upper body and tummy. I managed to lose it a year later when I had surgery to remove piles. I was terrified of constipation after that surgery and barely ate anything for 12 days, that kick-started a healthy eating regime which I have to stick to or the weight quickly goes back on! (Christmas is a killer, always put on a few stubborn lb's that are then impossible to get rid of).
I am now just over 2 years post thermal ablation. I am so confused. I have been charting my basal body temperature and trying to establish what my cycle is doing in order to prevent an unwanted pregnancy. I am not always bleeding each cycle and have to rely on other symptoms to demonstrate I am having a period, such as pmt, cramping, constipation etc.. I was getting terrible cramps during my 'period' which took me back to the Doctor and almost ended up in Hysterectomy. I was told I have Adenomyosis, which is why I get such awful debilitating pain. It is frustrating that there is not more information out there for women who have had this procedure, without sites like this, there would be nothing! I would love to hear from anybody who has also got Adenomyosis or Endometriosis and problems with periods such as bloating/pain/constipation/fatigue. Also I get really sore breasts before my 'period'. I usually know I have my period when I get the cramping because some months I lose no blood whatsoever, which suggests that maybe I didn't ovulate? No oestrogen, no womb lining growth??
Confused!!!

I am 46years old. I had an ablation at age 36 due to crazy bad periods all my life and worse afer having 2 kids. I really think I am going thru menopause now. No hot flashes, no periods since ablation. I have huge mood swings, crying alot, huge depression, anxiety, heart racing at times. I also have very bad restless leg syndrome most nights, facial wiskers, bad acne breakouts, no real weight control problems, I could lose a few pounds though. I thought is was interesting to read that the ablation may have brought my menopause on early. My mom had a little bit of nothing for menopause symptoms at age 50. I have read that horrific periods could lead to bad menopause symptoms. I have not seen my doctor yet but I dont like the thought of hormones. I will only go to a female OBGYN! Maybe its the menopause, but I dont trust men at the moment. I didnt know the menopause symptoms could be so severe. If I see one more advertisement for Viagra I am gonna scream!! How about a little reasearch and drugs for Menopause!!!
