Hi Folks,

I had a stroke of sore throat, cough and fever about 1 week back. I didnt take any medication as its common here this time of the year. It went away on its own. After a week, I developed slight pain on the left side of my throat just under the jaw bone - the dipression where u can feel your pulse. The pain worsens if I press on that area. Otherwise I feel it when I move my head around on right side or up. There is so far no difficulty in swallowing food. But I am having persistent cough also. I am yet to see a doctor. Just wanted to know if any of you have faced such a problem and what are the causes, cures...

thanx

I was searching the internet looking for answers to why the left side of my neck, jaw & ear were hurting so bad when I came across your post.
I recently went to the doctor myself and they told me it must be a "virus" ... well, here I am 6 days later and it hurts worse than before!
I'm making an appointment with my doctor tomorrow - Look what I found :
Carotidynia Signs and Symptoms": If an individual is having pain in the left side of the neck, in the pulse area, then he should feel extreme pain when turning neck to the right and swallowing, same goes for pain in right side of neck. This pain can increase when coughing and seems to be in the same side of infected area of the face. Symptoms can continue for up to 2-3 weeks. Inflamitory medicine should clear these symptoms within 1 week. If symptoms continue I would advise you to report to your doctor asap. www.migraineinformation.org/carotidynia.htm
Hope this helps!

After taking 3 pills at once I started to get this pain on the left side of my throat. Pressing it causes pain. Stressful and leaning to the right. How can I soothe this pain?

I have had cough for 3 months straight! Is it normal? I had bronchitis which went away, but I think my cough didn't have connection to it. It feels like my throat wants to tear, and my left ear wants to pop!
