I had a frenectomy and gum allograft done on one of my bottom teeth.  It has been 7 weeks and I still have a very tight feeling in my bottom gum. The dentist who did it said the frenulum reattached more than he would have liked, but is unsure if that is the problem.  Feels tight even when I am not moving my mouth.  He is offering to use the laser on the frenum again, but not wanting him to do anything else.  Suggestions? Is this normal? 2nd opinion necessary?

If he reattached more than he intended, then it is shortened, therefore, you will experience the frenulum pulling.  Kind of like when celebrities have face lifts and the surgeon pulls too much skin from the facial area leaving the face looking too tight. lol.  So I would say you can stick with it and see if it naturally stretches back into place.  You can also opt to have the procedure your dentist offered if it is too unbearable to deal with.  I know it would bother me, for sure.  It depends on your patience and tolerance on whether you wait it out or do the procedure.
