Chinese medicine / acupuncture believe a meridian runs through th gall bladder and around the side of knee and down to foot... upwards it runs past a he thyroid and around head. I would look at this via acupuncture as basically you are blocked energy wise probably through trauma of operation.

Just wanted to say that when they found the blood and bile leaking you stated that did some repairs but something else must have been wrong cause then they gave you a stent. Nothing else was wrong. They should have put stent in first to stop CBD leak and then install drain to remove bile in stomach. Sometimes they don't need drain since body will absorb small amounts on its own but they MUST ALWAYS STOP the leak. Doctors suck and did this to me as well. Can be very very painful and then they don't admit they screwed up at first. Can't be something they did causing this much pain so they take time thinking your faking. lol.

In the ER as I write this. The stent never came out on its own from that same procedure, I had it done a month ago. Be careful.
I went for an x-ray to check a couple weeks after, at the same hospital "regional hospital in Scranton" they never called me so I assumed all was well.
WELL HERE I AM
at a different hospital THIS TIME smh

23 years ago I had the same problem. My stent is still inside me. However, after being septic, which you most assuredly would have been, leaking bile, you may now have Lupus (I do) or some other autoimmune disorder due to your autoimmune system being pushed into overdrive to keep you alive while leaking bile. You need a rheumatologist. Hope this helps.

Get my stent out tomorrow. Had kidney stones. Put stent in to help, small stones pass. Other than discomfort. ( nothing major) has been no problems.

I was 37 weeks pregnant when I found out my gallbladder would need to be removed, though with me being so far along they would have to wait. So they put a stent in to help prevent blockages for the bile to move through. A week after I gave birth I had another gallbladder attack was in the hospital for 5 days before they decided to take my gallbladder. My surgeon kept telling me I had a bad kidney infection but would go ahead and take my gallbladder. After my surgery, he said my gallbladder was so rotten that it was infected full of stones, sludge, and pus!! And guess who had to put another stent in? Yea, my surgeon! I have to go back in Nov to have it removed. I have never heard that they place a stent of there is a mistake but it woukdnt surprise me.

Hi how did you get on after this? I have had a very similar experience to you. I am just waiting to go home from having ecpr. I'm so worried about ever experiencing pain like I had again.

Hi sppelt20134, this is probably old news but for anyone out there looking for answers, I, too, had a stent put in after gall bladder surgery (2 days later) because my liver had been nicked during surgery and I had a bile leak. My surgeon told me it was gas and I spent 24 hours on morphine and Percodan, vomiting green bile before she finally ran a scan and discovered the leak. Long story, but the gastroenterologist who put the stent in moved to a new medical group and I just got off the phone with them. He wants me to have an x-ray to see if the stent has "removed itself" before he goes in to remove it. WTH? What does that mean? No one seems to know so I am looking for that answer. Stents are fairly common because I was told by my surgeon that the gall bladder is actually attached to the liver so they have to cut into the liver to remove it. I have no idea if this is true.
