I don't get it, I have horrible tonsil stones. My mouth smells and tastes like sewage. I have sleep apnea. My ENT is still refusing to remove my tonsils, insisting that my issues are only cosmetic issues. You are all lucky bit***s if you got your tonsils out

I got my tonsils removed 5 days ago im 18 years old. I have had a lifetime of problems, they were always infected and i was always in the hospital for tonsillitis.my pain from 1 to 10 since i have left the hospital has been a 3 sometimes like today a 5. I cant eat anything hard but my doctor said it was fine to have milkshakes as long as i continue to drink water and brush my teeth. Your guide is amazing and it helped me realize that I am going through hell now but I know its worth it.No more swollen tonsils and no more doctor visits that give me hell.Thank you for giving me a guide to follow when i can eat regular food(:

P.s: before I went into surgery i told them that i get nausea easily and they gave me a patch called Scopolamine. It went behind my ear and i left it there for 3 days and till this day I have not been sick.

i got the radio frequency treatment to shrink my tonsils today and i'm having a lot of pain and...strangeness. i suffered from chronic tonsil stones and my tonsil was really swollen and irritated for about a month...doc zapped em today and i'm a little concerned...

this is a photo from 3 hours after the procedure http://38.media.tumblr.com/83c96265460ccc0f29eae2e4fe675da9/tumblr_ncf6osAt2y1qhpdduo1_1280.jpg

i'm in a lot of pain and it hurts a lot. i jerked when they put the needle in and i'm worried that that caused problems and i'm also concerned that existing bacteria/tonsil stones in the tonsil got agitated and released when they did the frequencies and is causing all that..stuff.

i can't tell if this is just the "healing" process though as the frequencies are suppsoed to set into motion a series of shrinking, scarring, and reshaping. i tried calling my doctor but the office was closed already.

did this happen to anyone else? now this wasn't a tonsil removal, just a shrinking using the radio frequency thing on the one tonsil...

I agree I was in the same boat as this kid. right now I'm in day 4 of recovery. I'm not in nearly the amount of pain that he was in I'm actually sleeping most of the days away.Only issue I've had is today some cauterization scabs fell off and caused bleeding but the bleeding stopped instantly on its own! I called the doctor and he said it was nothing to worry about. But I keep getting odd amounts of cauterization scabs coming up from places I'm not even sure they should be coming from?

Thank u so much for this. Its great great help. I am 28, on my 4th day post, cant talk, drinking and eating is tough. There is a burning sensation in my throat and tongue and pain in my ears. I always eat 30 min after the pain meds. A creamy not thick Mac and cheese is amazing, fulling and it slips down kinda easly. Popsicles also helps but cold water is hard for me, it causes bubbles in my throat. I heard my self snoring today and woke up terrified that because i was on my back. What helpes me the most is setting Alarms on my iphone for pain meds every 4/5 hours and antibiotic every 12 h and water every 3h. Water is important especially with meds, u dont want kidney stones on top of that. Still cant open my mouth wide to see the beautiful art of scabs. I hope everyone is having a great recovery as I dont wish this pain even on my worst enemy.

Thanks for this guide mate, I'm currently on day 8 of my tonsillectomy & I had mine out because of tonsil stones...I kept getting ear pain and hacking the little fuckers out on a daily basis, it's disgusting. The pain today has been nothing compared to day 2-7, days 3-7 we're horrendous...had to go back to hospital aswell because of a bleed but they sorted it for me & hopefully I'm on the road to recovery now, scabs are still there, I'm pretty sure they'll either fall out or I'll swallow them "retch!" in the next few days. Hopefully this guide will encourage people to get it done because it certainly did for me

I had my tonsillectomy 4 months ago and after the initial pain and bleeding (was readmitted to hospital twice in the first 10 days post op due to excessive bleeding) everything was looking good, Unfortunately though in the last few weeks I've had a peritonsillar abscess and I'm also now getting tonsil stones again!.. I can only imagine that my surgeon failed to remove all the tonsil tissue which is why I'm experiencing this, otherwise what would be the point of the procedure in the first place right? anyway it looks like I will probably have to go under the knife again :-( so be sure to let your future surgeons know to remove all the tissue first time round, otherwise you may well end up in the same boat I'm in...!

I am 43 and on day 6 post tonsillectomy. Days 5 and 6 have been the worst. I learned the hard way that pain meds cause constipation. I ended up in the ER last night due to an impacted colon. I couldn't take the tonsillectomy pain meds, so my pain was two fold and unbearable. I finally had to break down and take them risking more constipation. This guide is absolutely great and accurate. I've been eating Popsicles, lots of pudding, drinking lots of water and eating soft foods like mashed potatoes, soup and cream of wheat. My doctor also prescribed a magic mouthwash which has been awesome! I learned that the version he prescribed for me can be swallowed, which has been great because it numbs my throat and has made swallowing much easier. I know I'm not even half way through the healing process, but can better anticipate the stages with this guide. Thanks so much for posting this!
