About 3 weeks ago I had strep throat. I met with a brand new doctor, got antibiotics and felt so much better, even after only one pill. After 3 days my doctor called and wanted to review my test results from my throat culture. I called, left a message and forgot about it. The doctor's office called me on Friday, asking me to come in to still review. Now I am scared and think it is bad news (I always resort to worst case) so for the last 3 days I have be looking at my tonsils and googling "tonsil cancer" symptoms to see if I have any. I don't really...but my one tonsil does have white spots (tonsil stones?) and has a bloody patch. My right tonsil just looks enlarged. Can strep still be affecting me even after 3 weeks and 10 days of antibiotics? My husband just thinks the doctor wants to meet with me to say she wants to remove my tonsils... I am so worried. I have no family history of throat cancer but my dad did smoke around me for 21 yrs...I lost an aunt to bone cancer when I was 7 and a very close uncle to colon cancer 4 yrs ago so the whole idea just FREAKS me out and I have panic attacks over it...
