Hi I had a hysterectomy 7 years ago and continued to have stomach pain. after several visits to the Dr and to no avail I finally found one that would listen to me and low and behold I was told I had an ovarian cyst. I explained that I had a total hysterectomy and that could not be possible. My path reports were pulled and it showed all was removed. Well, they think and egg escaped and has formed into a FULL FUNCTION ovary. I have NEVER heard of such. Well it has imbedded into my bladder and has been producing eggs which have burst and attached to my intestines also. I now have to see a cancer specialist as I am told my insides are a mess now and he is the only one that can do this type surgery. So I go and see him and not only do I have to have a portion of my bladder, intestines removed but also part of my vagina. I am 28 years old and have two kids. Has anyone heard of such? To top it off I have been taking Hormone replacement meds all this time..I have been looking on the net and can not find anything relating to my problem.

Sorry to hear about your mess but if it at all makes you feel better I am going through a similar thing. I went into my doctor for pelvic pain and after trying many other remedies (with no success) we did a diagnostic lap thinking we would find endo as it runs in my family. INstead we found small growths, tumors and implants throughout my body made up of fallopian tube and CERVIX cells?!
Probably like you, I have done a massive medical reference search and came up with nothing...well other than a case re: a woman with an ovary on her bladder which was probably YOU! XD So I feel your frustration.
My groin lymph nodes are swelling and apparently these escapee cells like to invade those...I am having a hysterectomy in about a month to help with the pain and hopefully stop all the crazy implanting cells but we still don't know where they came from...no one does. My doctor also explained that there is a small chance of some implanting elsewhere post-surgery. I guess it doesn't happen a lot but it does happen. We are doing it vaginally to reduce the risk but still...I would like to know what is going on!
Sorry about my vent...I just wanted you to know that I feel your pain to some extent. If you ever read this still I would love to know if they every figured out more and how you are doing!

After reading your two emails I find myself still wondering what's wrong here. I had my hysterectomy back in 1997 (end) Now for the past five years my doctor have said I have a cyst on my ovary. I tell them every time (as I laugh out loud ) That the doctor that did my hysterectomy may have been 90 but he stated he took everything and I have a copy of the path report to prove it. Today I had a doctor that stated I need another ultrasound and a CA125 because ovaries don't grow back.

What ever happened with your cases? I had a total hysterectomy in December and now they are telling me I have 2 cysts on my left ovary that was suppose to have been taken out! They looked at my records and have reports that they took out 2 ovaries....Ijust wanted to see what you guys ended up doing?

Oddly enough there have been a couple of reports of ovaries growing back...it doesn't happen often...I've only heard of one case in my family that it has happened in, but normally it doesn't happen.
