My daughter had her tonsils and adnoids removed last summer. She has had several sinus infections, but also has complained of not being able to hear properly from either ear since her surgery. At the follow up last year, the doctor said it was normal and her hearing should improve. Well almost one year later and it isn't any better. Could there be nerve damage?
Hi,
The condition when there is a problem with ear infection is called tinnitus. This is not that unusual condition after the tonsil and adenoids surgery. The thing is that this usually goes away after few weeks, but your daughter has this problem too long. What kind of medication is she using? What did the doctor told your? I think you should go to your doctor again, because this is taking too long. If your daughter is having ear infection for too long, this might be a permanent problems. This can occur sometimes.
How did the surgery go? Did she had any problems with healing after the removal of tonsils and adenoids? How long did the recovery last?
