I had pneumonia twice, once back in 2008(?), and a second time in 2011, but I'm still having breathing problems. I can't walk up the stairs, walk for more than maybe 10 minutes, exercise, or even talk for more than a few minutes without being out of breath or even gasping for air. I've heard of people needing a year to fully recover, but it's been almost 6 years and I'm still struggling. Can someone help me try to figure out what is wrong? I cant get in to see an actual doctor, so any help is greatly appreciated.

What do you have for pets?

I was like you 6 months ago. I had to stop for a minute after every 4 steps going up the stairs it was so bad. I went for all kinds of heart and lung tests. They found my lungs were hyper inflated. I had a parrot that I've had for 16 years and thought that might be the cause. I took it to the pet store to get it out of the house and within 2 days I was significantly better. I found a new home for it last October and now I feel great and getting better every day.

I have 2 tabby cats, whom I've had since around 2006, but I've asked before if that could be the problem, and the doctor had told me there was no chance it could.
