Not the doctor people have a problem with. It is the scrub tech who in many states have no education, are just trained, cnas and oh the janitor who pops in and the high school kid next door or the cafeteria worker. Poor the person they trick you into allowing by hiding the fact they will be videoing surgery deep in the consent form you have to sign right now because we have to get you to pre ok so we can strip you and make you lay there form3 hours before we even take you to the OR.

So the fact that you see hundreds every day makes it OK for me. If I told you I've seen hundreds of naked women would it make it easier for you to take you clothes off in front of me?

The only time someone usually takes of their underwear is that they are delivering a baby

So you wouldn't take them off if you needed to go to the toilet then!

you people need to grow up. Actually its not your final decision what happens during or after surgery - if anything goes wrong its the theatre staff who will be held responsible. Get over your pathetic precious selves.

What your talking about is not actually surgery as in what the rest are talking about, for edyscopy you no need to even undress as I have had that done 3 times now and been awake each time it's been done unless it's different rules for if sedation is used when it's done what I can understand incase of a problem then but neither time was I asked to undress, what this topic is about is actual open surgery.

Do you need to take off your underwear and bra if you are having a mouth surgery in a hospital?

I don't care if the whole hospital sees me. naked as long as they do a good job . Also you can't get an erection under anesthesia so all I will have is a two inch mushroom .

Wrong answer of a nurse or OR technician, individual patients do not care if you have seen a million, they care that it is their own body exposed to complete strangers that you do not even know their names and there you are feeling vulnerable. It matters to the patient. You say "Once the operation site is prepped the scrub tech will drape the patient in sterile drapes leaving that site exposed and we don't even see you" I have seen videos and pictures of everybody doing what you describe while the patient is sedated, naked with everybody moving "proffessionally" around until the scrub tech come and clean skin and then cover the patient with drapes after already been unnecessarily exposed. Probably because they have seen many, they are no longer sensible to the patients feelings. View yourself in each one of the patients you care for and will probably think differently and advocate for the use of disposable gown like material or 100% cotton underwear on patient that request it.
