I get these quite frequently. They are some sort of stress attacks. That you'r brain tries to cope with the stress by making it work fast.

WANT AN ANSWER? LET'S LOOK AT THE FACTS!Here is what we know:1. this began for many of us as children. Let's explore this:1, A) was there a traumatic event in your youth? Keep in mind that trauma for a three-year-old is different than trauma for a 14, 20 or 45-year old. It doesn't necessarily need to be some form of disease, assault, etc.1, B) in 2014, how old are you? What type of vaccinations did you have? (you probably don't know)1, C) did one of your parents have this fast/slow mode? A cousin? A sibling?2. How CREATIVE are you?2, A) do you know your IQ?2, B) many of us like X-men, the Sims, etc. If you don't, do you still associate regularly with technology? Such as your cell phone, certain TV shows, you laptop or iPad before bed...2, C) what are your spiritual beliefs? (IE, not necessarily religion, but your personal belief system that only makes sense "to you")2, D) do you believe in past lives?3. Are you ambitious?3, A) have these episodes happened when you were relaxed, but incredibly focused on a particular event/thing/idea? Keep in mind, intense focus could also be a form of meditation when you're not actually "thinking" about anything. You could also be planning a really important speech, studying for a midterm, or simply slowing down your mind after your day when you crawl into bed.3, B) what did you "want to be" when you grew up? What are you "trying to be" now? Or, conversely, "what have you become now?"3, C) if this hasn't happened to you in since you were a kid, and suddenly happened to you as an adult, were you excited about something but a little frightened as well? Such as an idea you were really passionate about but weren't sure precisely how to execute it? (just an example) Were you arguably in a "child-like" mind set, IE really living in the present and not depressed about the past or anxious about the future?3, D) are you more left-brained or right-brained? Are you more logical and analytical, or are you more creative? Are you an even blend?4. Do you know it's not "Alice in Wonderland Syndrome?"Something no one is talking about is OUR BRAINWAVES. We know that when we are awake we are using an incredibly low percentage of our actual brains. Could we be using more of our brainwaves in these episodes? Let me explain:These episodes happen notably before bed or during periods of relaxtion or intense focus. During ALPHA brainwaves (which is usually before we fall asleep) our imagination, visualization and learning/concentration abilities are heightened. Alpha brainwaves are the voice of our intuition.THETA brainwaves are what happen once we fall PASSED Alpha. Supposedly, a deep spiritual connection and sense of unity can be achieved in this state (if you can keep yourself concsious - think about meditative monks as an example.). Your mind's most deep-rooted programing is in this state and it is said that this where your flashes of brilliance, profound insight and intense creativity stems from.A relatively new brainwave is GAMMA. (Delta is when you are asleep; beta when you are awake) GAMMA is the "fastest" frequency that not everyone can tap into. What I find interesting is that children have not yet been "tainted and influenced" by society and I believe are still able to tap into these brainwaves... think imaginary friends or the innocence of childhood - before we are taught that these things are "silly". Little is known about GAMMA brainwaves, (just like our fast/slow mode) but what IS known is that bursts of insight or extremely high level processing occurs; hence why everything is fast but slow at the same time (or whatever your other varying symptoms are). More of your brain is lit up. You are using more of it. GAMMA brainwaves are associated with extremely high level cognitive functioning - another thing that is diluted as we age. For more information google cognitive functioning if you're unsure what this is.Neuroscientists believe that gamma brain activity LINKS information from ALL parts of the brain, altering our perception of what our brain is processing. You can imagine the varying forms this could take on. This is a "peak" mental performance state, even though it could seem scary (though many of us move passed the scariness of it as we age and discover it is exceptionally "cool" in that we feel more "aware".)High GAMMA also corresponds with high IQ or strong discipline. Senses are also heightenedin this state. "Focus" is increased and cognitive abilities are sharper (sound, hearing, speed, speech, perception). One of the most notable things about GAMMA activity is the brain's ability to process far quicker than it normally does - think astounding amounts of information very quickly. Don't discredit these episodes because if you look closely, you could be receiving flashes of brilliane and overlooking them. And brilliance doesn't need to me E=Mc2. It could be insight on your own life - how to be healthier - how to pursue an idea - how to be happier; etc.If you think of this as an intense meditative state, where you fall asleep but stay awake, there could be trigger for you as each person is different. Is it intense focus on gaming? Reading? Studying? Gardening? Listening to certain music? Being alone with your thoughts while you drive?I encourage you to research more on Gamma brainwaves as it is relatively new. We are so customed to believe that any "different" is bad - be it seizures or lesions. But don't lose your inner child. It is very realistic that this is NOT a side affect (or at least not bad one) and that you are slightly more enlightened, intelligent or perceptive and connected to your TRUE self than many of your counterparts. If your child is having these episodes, do they have a wild imagination or are wonderfully creative? Encourage this in them. The cognitive brain is growing in young children and these episodes may be key to what they achieve later.I do think this is part of our species evolving. Our bodies are changing with evolution, why not our minds? I don't think it is a disease. It is brain activity, and SCIENTISTS are discovering how much we don't know, and how quickly we are growing and developing.

I had a seizure on Sunday, 2nd one ever. They told me a hyperactive mind can be a result in a seizure. I am going to see a neurologist this month April 2014 and this will be a topic of mine. Today my mind was going a thousand miles an hr. I will post what the Dr. Tells me. If anyone wants to know what they tell me please post. Thanks

I know when I posted my message six days ago I was mowing my lawn and I mowed that grass with quickness. I don't like to sit and let it pass I like to do stuff around the house not saying I like the feeling I dislike it greatly.

AIWS can effect people differently and can affect individuals differently at different times. AIWS is caused by the rapid fireing of electrical signals in the brain which may stimulate the (but not limited to) the optic and auditory centers of the brain. This means you can experience things differently as if they are speeding up and remember things that way because the frontal cortex is storing the timestamp on the memories as a short period of time in which everything ( sense of touch is included) happened. Another unique situation is Deja Vu where you think you saw something before it happened, yet it's actually just your frontal cortex giving an event the wrong timestamp or two seperate timestamps, thus your brain tries to rationalize it causing you to implant it into a time you might have thought about it happening. (I saw it in a dream before, or I remember making tea while This thought came into my mind about people I never met before in a place I've never been, now I'm experiencing it). Very different situation yes and involves different problems but it should help you understand it better. I too have these problems.

Wow i never thought there would be over people out there with this problem. Mine started when I was about three or four and mostly happened at night. Things would speed up and the noise made by normal objects or actions would be enhanced. Just moving my legs and hearing the bed sheets move would be unbearable. I would usually be sick during an episode. im now 32 and it happens very rarely. I am no longer sick and can stop it happening by concentrating on an imaginary situation. Usually i pretend I'm running away from something chasing me and as I get further and further away the sensation stops.

My son says he has this. He describes it as a train going fast around a track around and around to fast out of control.
