I am only 8 week pregnant and I have to need to pee much more often than usual. I feel like my bladder is full all the time. Is this urinary frequency normal in pregnancy and if it is, for how long?

In the first 2-3 months of your pregnancy urinary frequency is normal. This is because your womb starts to press on your bladder so that it can’t hold as much urine as usual and also the increased blood supply to your pelvic area can make your bladder feel full so that you need to empty it more frequently. This extra blood makes you produce more urine than usual. After about 12 weeks, your womb rises out of your pelvis and this reduces the pressure on your bladder, but at the end of your pregnancy the pressure returns.

Hello there pizzino,

First of all congratulations! Being a pregnant is wonderful thing and I believe that you are so happy because of it. Of course you are facing some unpleasant symptoms such as frequent urination but as pier has explained it nicely it is absolutely normal in your condition.

But you don’t need to worry that much about this (and avoid worrying about all the small things because stress is not good neither for you nor neither for your baby) and just enjoy and relay. You can educate yourself by reading books and figure out what is the best to do for your baby.

I wish you all the best and healthy boy or a girl.
