The problem is is that the majority of the women following this topic, have been to their Doctors and
the Doctors have disregarded it??? I am under the impression that it is because the area around the cervix is
very vascular and exertion and exercise increases the blood flow thus making light PV bleeding in some women.

Hi ladies,
I've had this problem for a couple of years. Tend to bleed mid-cycle, and particularly during/after exercise. I went to my doctor over a year ago and she referred me to a gyno. I had a pap smear, ultrasound scan, blood tests and STD tests and all came back fine. She couldn't see any reason for it. My ovaries were fine. She said if it continued then she could do a D&C. It has continued but off and on, might be fine for a month and then not for a few months. But I am hesitant to get a D&C without a specific reason.
It relieved me that all the tests came back fine and reading all your posts suggests it is something that is fairly common. I was wondering if the uterine lining is weak and shedding a little during exercise and ovulation?
I am 33, never had kids, hope to in the next couple of years, never been on birth control. As some of you have said, I get discomfort in my right side for a few days, sometimes up to almost a week, around ovulation time.
Would love to hear if anyone has heard any more answers from their doctors.

The worst thing about my "problem" was that I stopped exercising - thinking this was making matters worse etc.
Well, ladies...let me tell you this:
The women (angels) here who have pointed out that this happens to them at the time of ovulation really need to be awarded medals! This has really shed light on my "problem". You see, I recently started going back to exercising regularly at the gym 2 months ago. And lo and behold, I started bleeding after some time again. I started worrying myself sick again - literally. But I didn't want to go back to the doctor or gynae and be told I need surgery. Well, I quickly turned to Google for some answers :) and after I read all these messages, I decided to stop worrying as one Guest suggested. Thank you very much to this Guest who posted this message to everyone to stop worrying and enjoy life. It is the most positive and helpful message of all. But thanks to all the ladies who have posted here as you have all helped to highlight an obviously common issue which frightens so many of us.
"I have had this for years exercise regulary, have been told that its just my body had scans etc, as we can all see its not rare. Everyone stop worrying and enjoy your life l where a panty liner and then dont have to worry. Hope this helps l'm also in my 30's."
So after reading this, I just continued to exercise and I usually wear a panty liner all the time anyway so it was no big change to my life. This post has really helped me so much to take my mind off this issue. I also read another post about Days 13, 14 and 15 of the cycle and counted my days....
It has now been 2 months since I found these posts/messages, and I really wanted to post my message here to everyone that this really is nothing to worry about. I am spotting on Day 15 of my cycle just like clockwork. This is after exercise and it doesn't make any difference what type of exercise or how intense it is.
So for anyone who reads this after encountering the same "problem", do count your days (starting from the first day of your last period). If you are bleeding during ovulation, then you really have nothing to worry about. If it is NOT during ovulation, then you should see your doctor or gynae about it. Most of all, don't worry yourself sick. The mind is extremely powerful and you could end up making yourself sick like what happened to me... just from concentrating on thinking that there is something wrong with you - when there isn't! It took me a long time (many months) in 2010 to be "well" again. I stopped exercising because I thought and felt something was seriously wrong with me. There wasn't! I put on so much weight from not exercising and feeling so depressed about my "problem". It was such a waste of all that time in my life.
Thanks to this forum and the guest who told everyone to stop worrying, I am now exercising regularly without fear of this issue. I feel great, and most of all, healthy - coz I AM!! :)
