Hi, just wanted to thank everyone who posted, cause I have the same problem, and have had it pretty much all my life, whenever I do strenuous exercise I tend to spot and cramp. And it is around about the time of my ovulation as well. So thanks, it's good to know I am nor alone!

I am glad to have found all of your comments and this topic. For the longest time i thought i was the only one and sat here and wondered why this doesnt happen to other women. I've been to the dr several times about it and they found nothing and just prescribed the pill which i refuse to take. ( my hubby is snipped and i dont like the emotional side effects ... my own personal choice.) So i am not sure if the pill would make a difference. Either way i am glad to know that Im not alone although i dont wish this on anyone. It can be so nerve wrecking and make you more stressed out, not to mention i should probably get a share of the Always co. ...lol. Sometimes you have to laugh to keep from crying.  Thank you all for  sharing. :)

Wow, to all the girls here, thank you! Just to add my experience, I have been doing cardio for quite a long time now (a few years) and only 10 days ago I started exercising in a gym with a personal trainer who, I have to say, does push me to work harder every time. It was my sixth training last night and when I got home I noticed slight bleeding, first red then brown, and it simply stopped there... I have been really worried since last night, I feel a bit better now that I know this happens to other women too...

I am one of life's worriers but am glad I found this thread.  I have been bleeding after exercise for the last 6 weeks after increasing my cardio at the gym.  My GP does not seem overly concerned but my mind is working overtime.  It is comforting to know that I am not alone with this experience and that maybe it is yet another joy of being a woman.......

Thank you!  I ended up here while searching to see if this is normal.  I recently took up running and had mid cycle bleeding after a run.  A couple days later I had the same after a swim, though not as much (swim was longer than usual and I really pushed the last hundred meters or so).  I'm a bit on edge with it, because I went through a D&C and hysteroscopy last year to search for pre cancerous changes.  One of the major symptoms that brought this on was actually the mid cycle bleeding, but I've not had any issues with it since the procedure about 8 months ago.  I'll still check in with my doctor because I don't want to ignore a potential issue, but I'm much relieved to hear from all of you that this is not as uncommon as I may have thought!

I have bleeding problem whenever I do a hard working abdomen exercise in gym. Why is this happening

I started exercising again for the pass month and this week I have been pushing myself to a 3 miles run. No pain but did see mucus/red discharge on toilet paper. Had gone to doctors years ago about this same matter and was told that everything was normal but got scared that it happened again today. Glad to find out that many of us have the same symptom after a heavy work out.

Yeay!! I feel so much better knowing I am not alone. I am 37 have POS and have had no children. Mid cycle running causes cramps severe enough I feel as though I am going to be sick or pass out, followed by short stint of bleeding. The cramps usually last about 30 to fourty minutes. I am on cardiac meds and blood thinners, but that doesn't account for the cramps. I think it must have something to do with ovulation as that seems to be the most common thread. I did go to the ob who gave me a pap and an intervaginal sonogram. He found nothing and wanted me to go to physical therapy. REALLY??!!?? He wants to cure me with more exercise?? lol. I'm going to chalk it up to about normal from what I read on here and just light walk during ovulation. Thank you!! Thank you!!

I'm 18 years old and I get the same as you. I'm slim, a size 8-10 and have worked out since I was about 14 years old. My work outs vary but over the past 6 months I've intensified my workouts to tone up and ever since I've done this I will get very thin, reddish/brown light bleeding for about an hour after working out. It normally happens when I've just come off my period or I'm due to come on, but I may mention it to my doctor and see what she says as it does worry me, but after reading all of your comments I am reassured. I'm also not sexually active, not on the pill or anything so maybe it's just a natural reaction after an intense workout?

I am a frequent runner. Usually just a little over a mile per run. I haven't ran in about a month but yesterday I ran 3 miles and felt fine. This morning I went to bathroom and noticed a lot of blood. I am regular and just had my period 2 weeks ago. No pain. Just very concerned/surprised. Hoping its nothing and just from running. But also hoping it doesn't continue.

OMG, there has to be some type of explanation for this?? I did very strenuous work yesterday (stacking 100 bales of hay, each bale weighs 50-80lbs) and running all over the ranch closing gates and things. A few minutes after I got back to the house I went to the bathroom and I had dark brown discharge all over my underwear (I assume dried blood). I have been bleeding non-stop since then. It has been paired with cramps similar to when I'm on my period but not really the same. The pain is in the same general area but isn't that "tearing" type of pain. I have taken ibuprofen and it helped a bit but the pain is still very much there (normally the pain killer completely knocks out my menstrual pain). I also bleed after horseback riding, fast walking, vigorous exercise, etc. It's so frustrating. I am 24 years old, not pregnant and never been pregnant, never had intercourse, don't do drugs, don't smoke, don't drink, and I eat very well and work out 3-6 times a week. Why are all the doctors acting so nonchalant about our unexplained bleeding??

I am so glad I am not alone. I started running to train for a half marathon many months ago and noticed that after a run I would go to the bathroom and have lots of red mucous come out (sometimes this lasted for 5-6 days but mostly it was when I was ovulating). I got a pap and talked to my doctor who kind of blew it off as hormones as I am 37 years old. I stopped running for a month or so but did hard strength training (and never any mucousy blood after this kind of training which stresses out the body and affects hormones too), then I went for a 30 min run today, doing some quick minute sprints and again every time I go to the bathroom, lots of red bloody mucus! It's frustrating to not have any specific answers!!

I have the same issue like all the ladies here. I always bleed and get cramps like period after running, push ups. etc. so now i am doing yoga and Taichi. I got two altrasounds, and both showed that the lining of my uterus are thick, so i am going to see a gynecologist next week. Hopefully she or he could tell me what's really going on. I recommend to see your doctor in order to be safe.

I was just wondering if the women here are sexually active when they are having these episodes of cramping and bleeding outside of your period. About a couple of months ago I experienced female eyaculation for the first time in my life while my new boyfriend penetrated me with his fingers. Now that he has a hang of it he loves making it happen and sometimes several times in one sex session. The last time he did it a record 6 times and this happened only a couple of days before this cramping and bleeding episode began after a very hard spin class. I question weather he is damaging something?
