I'm 16 and I have been sexually active for the past 6 months, with the same person. I'm also on birth control, depo provera. And I'm planning on getting off of it this coming up month, my next appointment for my next shot is for the 7th of February, and for the past week or so I've been spotting sometimes light and sometimes fairly heavy, and it smells awful, not your typical period smell it's like 10 times worse and I've been having vaginal itching and burning, but it only burns when I pee and after but only for a few seconds. I have no idea if this is a UTI or just my depo causing all of this or an affect of having sex. But I would really like to have some advice before I go to the doctor because I hate doctors. So please any advice you could give me would be awesome.
Hi, why are you thinking of coming off depo and have you thought of any other sort of contraceptive your going to use?
What you have sounds like it could be bacterial vaginosis to me.
Depo has given me a lot of problems, weight gain, burning and becoming really dry during sex. And I'm just ready to be off of it. I was thinking condoms, or looking into other birth contorts. And bacterial vaginosis? What is that?..
BV is a change in healthy bacteria that's in your vagina that causes the trouble.
It could also be
Chlamydia symptoms inwomen
Abnormal vaginal discharge that may. have an odour.
Bleeding between periods.
Painful periods.
Abdominal pain with a temperature.
Pain when having sex.
Itching or burning in or around the vagina.
Pain when urinating.
in what case your boyfriend will need to get checked out as well.
How long have you been having the symptoms for?
A week, but I don't have any fevers or anything like that? I just itch and burn when I pee and have a smelly brown discharge.
how long have you found that you have been feeling dry when having sex?
It could be symptoms of several different things so its hard to actually pin point one with out actual tests.
I would advisor you to in to see your doctor as soon as possible and get it checked out :-)
