hey guys, I just had surgery for a bilateral varicocele almost 2 weeks ago and the varicocele is still there which I know is normal but what worries me is that when I lay down it goes away??does this happen to anybody else?? Is this normal?? I thought that they tied off the veins so that shouldn't happen??

I think this kind of swelling goes away given time. It could take weeks or months for the varicocele to be completely gone. However, I'd leave a message with the surgeon asking him or her this same thing to see if this is normal and if it will eventually go away. The other thing to ask is when should you seek immediate medical attention and by around when you should expect a full recovery.
