Hello,

I was recently diagnosed with varicocele (left). The pain started about 3 weeks ago. I waited a week then went for a physical examination followed by an ultrasound. The ultrasound confirmed varicocele with normal and uniform testes size.

The main symptom I have right now is discomfort, usually after as little as an hour on my feet. I've been trying to deal with it by switching to briefs, lessening my mobility, and taking Ibuprofen.

My only concern is that ever since the discomfort started, my orgasm has felt significantly less pleasurable. Like, 50% of the way it felt before the discomfort began.

Could this be caused by less sperm production from my left testes and thus less sperm ejaculation?

I'm currently working abroad and the surgery isn't possible here. I have to make a decision soon whether to leave my assignment and return to the States for surgery. I wish I could just wait three months till the end of my contract, but the orgasm issue really concerns me.

Thanks in advance for any advice!

I did have the surgery. My pain symptoms went away and I've felt good for six months since the surgery. Sometimes I experience a pinching sensation depending on the way I sit or sleep. Overall, I'm very happy with the surgery.

As for the lessened orgasm, I feel that my orgasms are normal again. I think it may have been a result of the pain I was experiencing at the time. It may have been in my head too since I was worried about the cause of the pain.

I hope you find relief soon!
