Hi you all. I am 35years old female from Iceland. :)

I have constant pain in my left ear and the doctors here in Iceland have not been able to find out what is wrong with me. I have gone to several doctors and to MRI two times.

I am putting my story in here in hope that anyone out there could suggest what really might be wrong with me :(

 My story started in January 2008. At first the pain was just in my left ear two times a day, and for 5-10 minutes each time. After two weeks of pain I went to ENT doctor because I thought I had an ear infection. But he did not find anything wrong with me.

After that I started to feel worse and I had pain in my ear and felt pressure also.... just like my eardrum was exploding or something. I then went to my Primary care Physician but he also did not find anything wrong with me either. The same week I felt like I was going to die from pain I went to the ER here in Iceland but that doctor also did not find anything wrong with me.

:? Three months passed by and my doctor sent me to the City hospital (Borgarspitali) to meet ENT doctor. He did all the tests he could think of (like; hearing, CT… ect.) But he did not find anything wrong with me.

Now my doctor sent me to se Neurologist who sent me to CT scan but no results there either.

I went to Spain for two weeks and the pain completely vanished. But before and after the Spain vacation I´ve had the pain every single day, but not always the same…. Sometimes just a little tingle but sometimes horrible pain and pressure.

I don't feel any dizziness at all. Sometimes I feel like the pain is starting in the other ear also but I am not sure though.

The pain has been bearable this summer until I stopped taking all my meds because my doctor suspects I have a bleeding ulcer , but I am waiting to get an appointment with a doctor for that.

Anyways… since I stopped taking my meds the symptoms has gotten worse.

Can anyone out there suggest what these symptoms are reflective of & what this could be as its driving me crazy & I'm actually quite worried!
