HI,

Around the 21st of the month is when my normal period is due, back in April i had a normal period with no problems.
Went away on holiday on the 27th April and while i was away i had another period? i thought this was strange because i had only been off my period one week and was already having another, how much utrus could my body possibly want to get rid of? Anyway got back off holiday on the 13th of May and period ended 2 days later 15th May then a week later 23rd of May i get something that can only be explained as browny/red discharge? anyway cleaned myself up went back to the tolilet couple hours later to find that there wasnt anymore of the above i thought this was strange but thought nothing of it...
Day after the same thing happened to me again and has been happening ever since, went to the doctors on Tuesday she examined me and took a few swobs to be tested for EVERYTHING, now i have to wait a week until i am able to get results from the swobs and thats if there is anything that comes back.
She mentioned that it could be a hormone infection? i was confused when she said this term but it completely left my mind to stop and ask what she meant i have searched online for what she could have meant but nothing seems to lead back to the problems im having... if any of you could advise/help me with the problem above put my mind at ease maybe for the next week i would be ever so greatful.

Thanks in advance

Hi moo: HAve you been having unprotected sex? If so, that brown discharge could be implantation bleeding!

I think every woman has wonky periods from time to time, and you will be no exeption. Some women can wake up and find their beds SOAKED and tehn nothing, right in the middle of the month! Also Moo, how old are you? If you are in your 40's could be signs of pre menopause!

IF you ahve changed the pill, that can be another thing, I have NEVEr heard of a hormone infection and just Googled it and nothing! I wonder if she meant Hormone Imbalance - which would TOTALLY match with what your symptoms are - unless you had unprotected sex. But she would have mentioned that to you, and I'm sure you would have too here.

From my limited knowledge the only way of determning a hormone imbalance is by a blood test. So wait till the tests come back, and then see about having a blood test. I really don't think you should be worried, MANTY women AND men have imblanaces lately - A LOt of specialists, believe it is from all of the meats we eat that have been starting to get hormones put into them. Even cows get more estrogen for more milk!!!! o.O That is why - I and others think - that girls are getting their periods younger and younger.

So don't worry OK Moo? Easier said than done I know, but your symptoms do not sound serious to me at all. Good luck and keep me informed OK?

I have in a steady relationship with my partner for a good few months now and recently had a few to many to drink and yeh had unprotected sex how ever i am on the pill?
Could you please explain to me what you mean by the term inplantation bleeding?

Im only 22 so the signs of menopause wouldnt be a good thing at my age.... great i wouldnt have a period anymore yes but for other reasons no as im sure you can undertand?

Doctor didnt mention anything about symptoms on unprotected sex?
I have been on the same pill for about a year and half now, had to change from the previous one due to it causing me to have migranies.

I understand that many people have problems with there homones but when it happens to youself you tend to get a little concerened as im sure you can agree?
I didnt no that about cows meat, so the saying is right, you learn something new everyday!

Hi Hon: Implantation bleeding is when the fertilized egg burrows itself into the lining of your uterus, causing the old lining to loosen up and leave the body - just like a period, but a lot less because it is just a little of the lining.

Since you have been on the pill, I really doubt this is the case, and of course now knowing your age, menopause isn't an option. So that leaves the "Hormone Imblance" Which - like I stated earlier, there is more and more cases of younger people getting this. It is nothing to worry about though OK? It is easily solveable, either by a patch or a monthly injection - I used to have the injection o.O :$ . So no worries OK? Just wait for the swab results, then ask for the blood test and then you and your doctor can plan what to do next. Good luck hon, don't worry and let me know what the outcome is OK?

if this is all down to it being a hormone inblance i think it will have to be the patch, i have a pohbia of needles so gettin the blood test if required is gonna be a nightmare!!

Thanks for your help youve stopped me worrying as much as i was roll on next week when the doctor rings to give me the news.
Will be in touch as soon as i know :-)

I have a tip for you for a phobia for needles. I'm sure you already know not to look at the needle, but what you can do is do some nice visualization so that you feel pleasant while you are getting your blood taken. what I like to do is go to a nice little island in my mind, maybe have a drink in my head. IT's very calming, and it's hard to stay freaked out when you're thinking like that. I hope that helps!

Yes Moo! Think of a "nice little island" With a big prickly palm tree sticking out the middle of it!!!!! ;-) XD o.O Sorry health guy I just HAD to do it!!!! LOL

Hahaha oh bambi, you've completely undone all the good I was trying to do! :-)

Seriously! If the island doesn't work then you could think of a hotel room or a restaurant or a lovely cabin in the woods or something like that. In any case, any sort of visualization you use can help with needles. Just don't think of prickly palm trees. :-)

Hi: Did they just do the swab? Or did they actually take some blood - from your arm!!!?

Just the swab tests, they ran tests for everything from that and they said there is nothing there that the doctor is concerned about.

Im not sure if i should just leave it because i have just come on my period and see what its like after this cycle if it keeps happening go back and ask for blood tests?

Yeah I thought so, she was looking for flags - cerical, pap test, infection etc. So THAT IS GOOD!!! Now that your period has arrived, just keep a note of it, how long, how light etc. Also IF your problems persist after, definitely go and get a blood test, for an hormonal balance. I can't remember the name of the patch I was on, I think it was like "Anatrol" something like that. It is a testerone patch, but if you are lacking in estrogen they MIGHT give you an estrogen patch. The reason why I said might, is that if there is any femal cancer including breast cancer in your family, they probably won't., As estrogen has been linked to those cancers. Keep me updated OK? Good luck!
