Hello! I'm a 50 year old female and i had my tonsillectomy done 10 days ago. My throat and ears are still hurting and I still have to take some pain meds before I can eat. Every time after eating I feel the nausea and end up vomiting. so basically i've been vomiting everyday after I eat. Is anyone else going through this? Please help!

Hi there,
It is important to know to know what and how much you can eat when it comes to tonsillectomy recovery. Many doctors will suggest that you continue with your regular diet after the surgery. But this is not possible for everybody. Many tend to go to soft diet. Mainly they eat soup, mashed potatoes and ice cream. It is too painful to eat hard food right after the surgery and it can take up to two weeks to get a bite of some hard foods. Ice cream can help you ease the pain and soreness in the throat.
Anesthesia can cause vomiting easily, but it should’ve cleared from your organism after a day or two. Are you using any medication?
