HELLO EVERYONE WITH THE DIZZINESS, HEAD HEAVINESS SYMPTOMS - PLEASE READ THIS.
I happened by this web site when I was researching what to do, because I too suffered simular symtoms as a lot of people on this site. I have not read every post so I do not know if anyone has mentioned what I am suggesting. My symptoms were as follows: dizziness, loss of balance ( to the point that I had trouble walking and standing), heavy head ( had to hold it up when sitting at my desk), sort of spaced out, felt faint at times, sore neck left side. This all started around Christmas for me and got worse to the point were I had to leave work at the beginning of may. I went to my doctor many times and he was zero help. First he thought it was my heart then blood sugar and after five months we were back to square one. Then I tried chiropractory and then acupunture which gave me some relief for about 12 hours only.
Then one day I was talking to the saftey manager at my workplace (that I have taken a leave of absence from) and she suggested I go see a NUCCA chiropractor, which is a special type that uses a gently push ( no twisting or popping) to push your top vertibrae in place. This realigns the spine and puts your body back in balance. So I went in to see this Nucca Chiropractor and he said all the symptons I have may related to my spine being out of alignment. So he did xrays and found my top vertabrae was out by about 5 degrees. This miss alignment makes your top vertibrae put pressure on all the nerves around it causing a wide variety of symtoms. So I went back and had an adjustment done and that same day I felt a fair bit better. I continue treatments for about 4 weeks. The amount of treatments needed varies from person to person depending on if the adjustments hold or not. Some peoples adustments hold after a few visits and others like me it took a month of treatments. Once your adjustments hold and your spine and neck vertabrae have stabilized then you need no more adustments ( other than the odd maintence adjustments). From this point the healing of the inflammation in your nerves and muscles begins and so does recovery from symptoms. Finally after 4 weeks my adjustment held and I am on week 5 and starting to feel better to the point wear I am back at work part time. I will put in an update in a few more weeks.
DO YOURSELF A FAVOR DO SOME RESEARCH ON NUCCA CHIROPRACTORS AND FIND ONE IN YOUR AREA AND GO THERE.
IT MAY HELP SOME OF YOU WHO ARE SUFFERING.
Sincerely, someone who cares
John

There is a condition called Migraine. Associated Vertigo that includes all your symptoms. Your doctor might be unaware of it. There is a very good site

Hi, I stumbled upon this post when I googled "weak dizzy feeling" - my grandmother 75 and I 39 have been going through this for YEARS. She complains of exactly what you said..she says her neck feels "weird" and "weak" and she gets VERY dizzy and nauseated, loses her energy, etc.
Well... the last spell she had was so bad that she couldn't even make her a sandwich, she had to get the bread and PB out and then go sit down and rest and then go back and get the jelly and spread it on and then pray she made it to her easy chair. My mother took her to the dr and she was in need of a blood transfusion!!! BUT, granted she has suffered with anemia for most of her life where iron just will not bind in her system. She had the blood transfusion and never felt better in her life. The doctors and the staff at the hospital was so shocked because her blood supply was so low...and even though she's been checked by scopes she has no internal bleeding so they don't know why her level dropped like that.
I've been "dizzy" for about 13 years. I also just recently found out that I have a low red blood cell count. My doctor never brought it to my attention because ever since I have seen her it has always been low! I was never alerted to this issue. I've been going to her for about 6 years or so- I found out that having a low red blood cell count it can cause you to become very dizzy and weak, lethargic, etc because red blood cells carry oxygen to your brain and to all of your extremeties! I've been crazy all of this time because of my dizziness and am irritated that my RBC count has been low this whole time. I am now in the works of finding a specialist.
Before I found out that my RBC count was low I had TMJ surgery about 12 yrs ago because I had been in a car accident and on of my jaw discs were damaged and popped in and out every single time I ate or spoke. They thought that was why... well, the dizziness remained but my jaw stopped popping.
Lastly, since I had moved from Oregon to Florida I noticed I had headaches that were mainly in my face- cheeks and forehead area and I felt that I couldn't hear real clear... so I went to an allergist and I found out that I am extremely allergic to 30 of the 50 things they tested me for! He said I had a lot of drainage and that I had fluid in my ears. I do notice that when I am around mold (Florida is damp like the Oregon coast), dust, certain air freshners, high pollen count, etc I get sick quick. I don't get normal allergy symptoms like most people- red watery or dry eyes, the sniffles, sneeze, etc but I get sinus pressure, ear fluid, immense dizziness, nausea, headache and if I don't take aleve right away it turns into a full blow migraine and sometimes I get migraine with no pain but just see these weird white orbs zipping across my eyes (found out that my grandfather and mother only get those type of migraines and only told me when I mentioned that I was seeing these weird things).
Now, I take an allergy pill. I tried many- over the counter and RX ones and some made me sick feeling and some made me so tired that I coudln't function and then I tried Allegra and if I don't forget I don't get this weird dizzy weak muscle feeling. I am feeling that way right now (laying down and not moving typing this) and I have not taken the Allegra in about 5 days because I was feeling fine. I just took one so I am hoping it will subside if my issue is my allergies.
The allergist also suggested I be checked for meniere's disease where the inner ears are affected and causes extreme vertigo and dizziness... but I didn't do it because they said I would have to go into the city to have it done (an hour away) and it would make me vomit. UGH. They would try and make me dizzy by doing a variety of things and frankly I really hate feeling that way and sometimes it affects me to where I cannot even shower and it lasts for days. There is really not a whole lot they can do for you with that disease anyway.
I also know that when I don't drink enough water I get very lethargic, dizzy and muscle weakness. I drink about 5 bottles of water per day and if I am not too dizzy I exercise and I drink even more. This used to not affect me this way but since my 30's if I don't drink a great deal of water I feel very sick! (I am not diabetic, just went to an endocrinologist and it was ruled out). I get muscle weakness throughout my whole body, feel trembly, nauseated and dizzy until I drink a bunch of water. I have to force myself to when I get like that but I know it helps so I do it.
Caffeine pulls the water out of your system so make sure when you drink soda, coffee, tea, etc you drink even more water...about a month ago I quit drinking soda altogether. I used to drink diet coke but found out that it even has more caffeine than a regular coke! I do drink ice tea and 1 cup of coffee every morning but since I drink so much water I think it is ok.
Make sure to go to your regular doctor and tell them that you want a FULL lab test. Have them look in your ears and see if you have any fluid whatsoever.
My husband has neck "pain" that runs down the side of his neck and our doctor saw that he had drainage that was causing it! It is weird because it went away and now it's back but when he had it last time it was in the summer too! He doesn't take allergy medication but that helped him before and he needs to start taking it again. Also, his snoring came back. UGH. I'll make sure he gets some, he took a nose spray and it helped his neck and his snoring.
Hope this helps, I hope they figure out what it is. It consumes your life, I hate it. And people that have never suffered with this a day or moment in their life does not understand. They think you are crazy! But the only way to explain it is motion sickness. It's that dizziness with the feeling you are going to puke when your muscles in your jaw, neck, arms, etc get that weird weak feeling.

are you still having these issues? I have a whole host of (vague) problems - some very similar to you -but the thing that really struck a chord with me (and prompted me to join and respond for the very first time in a forum [have lurked for years!]) was your comment about shopping centres. I have that same experience and have never felt brave enough to mention it to any one. Sometimes I have to force my legs to step - because my brain is telling it that it dangerous in some way - like i'm going to fall. It's worse where there are multiple levels/glass/open elevators - as you said too many visual stimuli. I get the constant headaches also - and it's definitely my neck (I have a bad scoliosis that directs all the postural corrections/torsion up to my neck and head). The mainstream medical profession have no idea. It makes me slightly crazy when it's at its worst - I am very irritable from the pain and feeling of dissociation.
