I did mine tubal litigation at the beginning of the last year. Unexpectedly I gained a lot of weight, probably because my hormones messed up. Now looking on how to lose weight after tubal litigation. My worst problem is belly fat ... I love this great thread and see some recommendations and would like to hear what was the best diet choice or supplemental that helped you guys lose belly fat after you tied your tubes.

Yes! I have tried everything to get back to a normal weight, but it has been three years after my tubal and even despite running a half marathon, nothing! I have eaten healthfully and exercised, but nothing. I have never been the type to get so depressed, but now I get more depressed and moody than ever. I experience fatigue for most days and struggle to feel any form of vigor at all. I lost weight after all my pregnancies, but the last one with the tubal is the one that affected me the most.

I had my tubal back on Dec 15, 2011 the same day my youngest daughter was born. Now fast forward nearly 10 years later, I have gained at least 75 lbs now weighing in close to 200. I am 5'2" and until I had that surgery never weight more than maybe 150 not being pregnant. I have tried completely changing my diet and going to the gym 5 days a week. Nothing helped!! I had cut out almost all sugar, was eating more veggies and fruits than I ever had in my life. No weight loss period. My anxiety and depression are 10 times worse than they were before the surgery. Not to mention I noticed right away after the surgery that my period's were way different. Before I never knew what a cramp was, now they are like having contractions. The bleeding is so heavy the first 2-3 days that I am pretty much done before the full 5-7 day cycle. I never really thought that having a tubal would cause such havoc on my day to day life.

I've had my tubal for 7 years now. I've gained about 30 pounds and get get under 150...I'm currently 160 when I weigh first thing in the morning. I'm 5 feet tall, and have never had an upper belly since having a tubal. I can't get it off! I've tried dairy free, gluten free, I did keto for almost a year and lost 10 pounds but the weightloss stopped. Heavy periods (till dairy free) and it's just so aggravating. When I had my daughter who is now 13 I stayed around 130 pounds. My son is now 7 and I can't get rid of it.

Oh my gosh, this board has been so validating. Thank you to everyone who has shared over the years. I got my tubal ligation and a D&C in December 2020 and gained 20 lbs in a matter of weeks despite maintaining the same diet and activity levels. I didn’t have a period for almost 7 months afterwards and now I’ve had a period for 4 months straight. I tried taking progesterone as prescribed by my doctor and as soon as I finished the course of hormones, my period kicked into overdrive. I have never ever bled so much in my life - bleeding through a super in under an hour. My doctor told me the weight gain wasn’t from the tubal and neither were my other symptoms. I’ve gone through all kinds of testing - FSH levels, scopes, ultrasounds, etc. everything comes back looking healthy. I’m scared and extremely tired and I don’t know who to trust or how to get help anymore.

I have found I becoming very sensitive to this so while having all the weight gain like everyone else so glad I saw your reply. I am doing dairy free now (well trying hard) and next going to take out gluten too. So hard to figure out what to eat though lol. Thank you and congrats on losing this stubborn weight.

Hey ladies, it sounds like we might have a class action lawsuit! I'm so angry about the weight gain and I wouldn't have gotten this if I knew the weight would be packing on after this surgery. I think it needs to be addressed and brought to light that this is happening to most every woman who's gotten this procedure done.

Yes, I had my tubes tied immediately after giving birth to sixth child about a yr ago and I have gained almost forty lbs and have not been able to lose it. Even though I have done diets and exercise routines. Very very disappointing as I've always lost my baby weight immediately after have my other children including my twins which I was back to my pret twin weight two wks after having them.

Me too!! I weighed less pregnant than I do 3 years later. I am more active now, eat better and less than 2000 calories a day, yet can't quit gaining. Nothing I do works. I went to my OBGYN and they refuse the thought that it is caused by my tubal. I feel so different in many ways since before the procedure. My periods are heavier and more painful, my mental health is worse than ever, and of course the massive 60lb weight gain!!! I have 3 kids, and never felt like this after the 1st two kids, so it's not post pregnancy related. It's tubal related and I truly believe it. But I cannot get a medical professional to.

Yup I just had my tubes tied and I was already struggling with having gained weight have dropping to below what I should have been due to depression and poor eating habits. Then I had my tubal at the beginning of this year and shot 25 lbs up above what would be a healthy weight and continue to steadily climb. I eat mostly fruit and drink only water whenever possible and only eat a real substantial meal in the evening. I have also exercised consistently for the last year doing physical therapy for various issues I have with my back and hips and trying to stay active despite having a desk job and it doesn’t seem to do anything or help and I’m continuing to slowly but surely gain more and more weight.

I too have gained excessive weight. I was always around 130, gained almost 80 lbs with my son. Had a C-section and lost all the weight after. Consistently kept below 140 for 14 years without trying, until 3 years ago after salpingectomy. I'm at a steady 175-180, although I carry it better now than at first, since I am more active. It's now primarily around my lower belly and waist. I'm experimenting with a "vibrating platform" to see if it will aide in lymphatic drainage because I've literally tried all of the above.

The article that goes with this is BS. I went off of birth control for a long time before I had my tubal so please don’t say the symptoms are from that and not the tubal. Listen to patients and get to the bottom of things. Just like everyone else commenting, I too gained about 20 pounds within 4 weeks of having the tubal. Plus another 10. I eat extremely healthy and I work out. Nothing I did besides the tubal would’ve affected my weight. Not only did I gain weight, but my body completely changed. I NEVER had an issue with my midsection. Now, that’s where I hold ALL of my fat. All around my midsection. This all changed suddenly after my tubal.
