I had an ablation 1 year ago, it did calm my periods but for the most part but I pretty much spotted almost everyday! Very inconvenient!! I started having severe pain in my abdomen and legs about 3 weeks ago, so bad, I went to the ER and they said (without tests) that it was sciatica and sent me home with muscle relaxers. I was taking them and it took the edge off but started bleeding heavily and as soon as the pills wore off throughout the dayI had the same exact severe pain. So back to the ER i went.

This time they did an ultrasound with blood work etc. My uterus is 3x larger and I had an infected ovary with a large cyst. So now I decided for them to take EVERYTHING!!!! So done with it all. Was very worried about weight gain though because my belly has been getting bigger and bigger and I am eating healthier and working out so I didn't understand how this was happening! I just know that when you actually say to yourself "that is it. i want it gone!" I just don't have any concerns except weight gain. All of the other stuff can be managed and I will just work twice as hard at weight loss! BTW I am 50 years old so age is against me as well, my surgery is July 21, 2017. I will be getting back on here and posting my outcome within the next several weeks! Thanks for all of your encouraging posts! They helped me feel better as well! Thanks! April

I'm due for a hysterectomy in a few weeks and am so terrified. I'm getting opened up from hip to hip.....I also have Chronic Kidney Disease, as well. They are considering me high risk!!!
So afraid of being put out and not waking up...as well I don't know what to expect after wards.

Just had my hysterectomy on July 14. Was pleasantly surprised at the low pain level I felt. I've dropped about 5 lbs. I can't tell you how scared I was after reading all the horror stories. Don't listen to the negative. Your Dr knows best!

Thank you so much for writing this. You made my day. I needed to see and feel someone else who has gone through what I am going through now. Happy that you are feeling great! Looks like I will be going in soon myself.

I just had had my complete hysterectomy with an abdominal incision. When I went to the doctor this Tuesday, I had lost 14 lbs in four weeks, and have lost another 5 lbs since three days ago.

I am so grateful for this site.
I have had fibroids issues and just had a whole lot of tests from Mri and bloods done for tumour marker. I am just over the whole testing had it three years ago was all clear but my gyno wanted it done again, I am seriously contemplating a Hysterectomy as I am over the whole stress caused by these test, worried it could be a serious illness that I would rather eliminate.
I have had a real hard time loosing weight always, gym 5 days a week and still overweight so have been scared to have this due to weight gain so thank you to you all on this site.

Great encouragement!!!! I just had a vaginal hysterectomy 3 days ago and feel fine. I have been losing weight, as well. I do think it is due to my lack of appetite. My only complaint is the lack of bowel movement and gas. I know that will pass in Jesus name. I am 44 and look forward to a better sex life with my wonderful hubby. I pray complete healing for myself and all who will have and had surgery on this site.
