I had a total vaginal hysterectomy last Monday (Aug 21). I came out of surgery and was up walking in about an hour, 2 hours later I was home. I had read all the negative stuff beforehand and was really scared. The worst part is the gas and constipation and I took Miralax from day 1 and on day 3 finally started going. My appetite is normal but I was afraid to eat because when I did I felt bloated or more gassy. I have lost 8 pounds and am hoping I keep losing! I feel fine have been out almost every day but do get tired and just as another poster wrote you do t feel it until after the fact. Don't let the internet scare you. I also have the Minivelle patch, but because I have not gotten any symptoms I have not started taking them. Oh, I am 53 and glad I did it right now, but it's still early.

Oh my thank you. I am 41 all the problems you mention and decided to be scheduled for Hysterectomy. I am so scared to gain weight and loose all the function I have now cause everything is so negative. Anymore pointers you can give me to help with me not gain and especially if any side effects with libido?

I go in on Oct. 4. I'm so relieved to have come across this site because until now, I've been having quite a bit of anxiety around this surgery! Best wishes to you on the 3rd.

Your symptoms sound like mine. My uterus is very large and I have multiple fibroids. My menstrual bleeding was heavy to the point of changing a super tampoon every 15 minutes on some days. Thanks for the good words and now I feel at ease having a hysterectomy

I am waiting for my OB to call me back so I can go in and sign paperwork for a partial hysterectomy. I had a tubal ligation in March 2014 and Endometrial Ablation of October 2016 and I feel worse now than I ever did before. Also my heaviest. My fiancee and I just decided on a wedding date so even more weight gain is certainly not ideal for me. I'm 5"11 with a wide frame so 225 doesn't look completely ridiculous on me right now but it's not comfortable either. Every website I have looked on, the women are so miserable and unhappy with their results. So this is a bit of a relief reading anything positive. I have suffered migraines for various reasons. Aspirin my friend. It thins your blood causing the blood vessels in your head to shrink as well allowing more constant blood circulation.
