Week 1
- Mupirocin 1x a day for 3 days
- Mupirocin 2x a day for 4 days
Week 2,3,4,5
- Mupirocin 3x a day for 28 days
Week 6
- Mupirocin 2x a day for 4 days
- Mupirocin 1x a day for 3 days
I do feel better, very, very slight annoyance every once in a while but a whole lot better.
I was told that with time it most likely will go away.
*Please note when putting the cream on the meatus (external urethral orifice, is the opening or meatus of the urethra), you should fill the external crack/opening and very gently, very slightly, give it a quick pat down with q-tip. Do not try an JAM it in, but just give it a quick once over pat down. You want to fill that external opening until it's the same height as both sides for the "peaks".
I hope this helps..

- I also did notice that when I went into my pool, I felt a little better.
I just recently switched over from a Chlorinated Pool System to a Salt Water Pool System. I'm wondering has anyone tried taking warm baths with unscented Epson Salt? I have seen the post on Baking Soda, and Garlic Baths (still used today for same purpose), it does actually make sense. Obviously if dipping tip of penis into say an 8 oz a cup of warm water would start out first with ONLY a 1/4 tea spoon of Baking Soda or Epson Salt might be worth a try. You can take a bath in both so it's not a far out crazy idea.

After how long did the mupirocin work?
I read that mupirocin is used in case of skin infection. Did you have anything visible on the outside?

I have been tested for Chlamydia, Ghonorrea, Syph, HIV, always negative. My prostate is normal. I don't have problem urinating, only the feeling that there is something stuck in my urethra (like a drop), sometime a feel of leaking urine, without really leaking. I don't have discharge, and my penis looks completely normal. I took
2 weeks of doxycycline
5 days metronidazole
2 weeks of avelox (moxifloxacine)
I have tried canesten cream and took a pill of fluconazole for candida infection.
Nothing worked, but doxycycline gave a momentary relief (for 4 days I thought I solved it).
A semen culture revealed a ureaplasma, and an antibiogram revealed that it was sensible to minocicline and doxycycline (which I had already taken!). I took minocicline it for 2 weeks, but didn't solve or alleviated the symptoms. Now I am 6 days clean of every antibiotics, and just waiting to get another test.
This is a very debilitating disease. I just want to tell to whoever has it: we are going to solve it.
This is how I am proceeding:
I will get a second test (I bought a test kit online for £220, it also tests for ureaplasma). If I am still positive to ureaplasma (or to something else) I am going to get (again) some antibiotics. However, after all the antibiotics, I doubt this is the problem.
If I am not positive to anything, I am going to consider a cystoscopy. I am starting thinking that this problem may be due to an urethral stricture. In fact, I have suffered post void dribbling since the last 1.5 year (not invalidating, just a bit bothering). It may be connected. However, my stream is strong and regular, so I don't know.
If you have similar symptoms, feel free to write here. I *WILL* check this thread daily.
Vaaal.

- After completing that round of Mupirocin Cream treatment mentioned above, after I was done, about 5 days later it started to annoy me again. Not as bad but still annoying.
- At this point I think I've exhausted almost everything, I've take so much c**p and nothing really cures this.
- Back to GP and said there's nothing he can do and to go back to Urologist.
- Here's what I don't get. The irritation is mostly constant, it's not Herpes 1 or 2, no symptoms of that and those are not constant, they would come and go..
- At lease half a dozen Doctors have looked at it without a real diagnoses except irritation, I'm talking Level 1 trauma hospital emergency room Doctors, GP's and top Urologist. I've literally spent thousand of dollars and am no close to figuring this out.
- It does feel better but not like it should.
- Symptoms:
- Pain at the tip / meatus of Penis
- No Pain while urinating or after urinating
- No discharge of any type
- Initial Doctor who examined me saw nothing and she opened up my urethra and looked straight down, was very thorough.
- Urine test came back as slight bacterial infection, but no pain / discharge during or after urination
- I'm so done with this sh*t, this has been since end of February of this year (2016), getting tired of Doctors. My GP said it may go away on it's own, maybe I need a new GP....
- Going to make an appointment again with the Urologist and see what he has t to say / suggest now.
It's cynical, since just when you think you've got the answer, you find out otherwise...
I still need to get answer about Mupirocin...
- There's the Cream
-There's the Ointment
- Which is better for this
-They have DIFFERENT dosing instructions
- I've been using the cream, maybe the ointment is the one
I'm so tired of this sh*t but I refuse to give up.

Pain at the tip of the penis may be due to prostatitis. A common theory is that prostatitis is not an infection of the prostate but may be due to a muscular problem of the pelvic area. Try to read a headache in the pain. A way to check if this is true is to stuck a finger up your butt to check for trigger points (pain referred to the tip of the penis). More information in the book I suggested you.
I do not, apparently, have the same condition: I don't have real pain on the tip of the penis, it's more like a constant feeling of leaking. Plus, when I look for trigger points, I cannot find any.
Anyway, keep me updated man.
We are going to beat this.

Update from Florida Man:
- Thanks for the support. Yeah I know all about Prostatitis, I have Chronic Prostatitis for years.
Both the Urologist and all the Doctors tell me it's not that. Believe me, I've been on so much Cipro from it I got Tinnitus (ringing in the ears), most annoying thing ever. Anyway, I'm not giving up, just past annoyed and frustrated like everyone else. All these Doctors all this money, literally thousands and no diagnosis except for the 1st one that said I had a slight bacterial infection in my urine. Never any pain on urination or discharge but got treated for a myriad of things as you can see from all my other post. A ton of meds. Even if it's a worst case, at least you would know, they can treat just about anything today as long as they know what it is, it's just not knowing, but it's also as all of us are doing, hoping for the best outcome naturally.
Here is what I have decided to do:
1) Trying Mupirocin Ointment instead of the cream (3x a day for 5 days), lets see how this works, that's the standard dosage.
As in earlier posts, the cream has a different dosage and looks like used for other things as well, so lets see if ointment is better.
2) If that does not work I may try a different approach, wondering if it's not a mild form of Balanitis
- The most common symptoms include redness, irritation and soreness of the end of the penis.
- Some of us have the redness and soreness, some of us just have the soreness
- I found this Omnicide™ Balanitis Gel, will try that if the Mupirocin fails
- This is the company (Omnicide Antimicrobial by SteriWeb Medical, LLC), I checked it out .
So new course of action:
1) - Mupirocin Ointment 3x a day for 5 days
If that don't work then:
2) - Omnicide™ Balanitis Gel as directed
If that don't work will go for the candidiasis route:
- Clotrimazole
- Econazole
- Ketoconazole
OR
3) - OTC Anti Fungal (Tioconazole Ointment (6.5%)
- Yup, it's for women but what the hell, I'm not "inserting" it anywhere, I'll just dab some at the tip and see what happens.
4) If that don't work will go for the candida route.. Why that route? Simple, candida can cause a myriad of problems too numerous to mention and can be treated for the most part OTC so what the hell.
So 4 things in a row... I'll let all of you know...
Again, thanks to all... We will either get some sort of an answer or at least narrow it down.

Mupirocin Ointment has a soothing effect for sure but alas, is not the cure.
Used it 3x a day for 6 day, 1st 3 were fine, the 2nd 2 ok, the last day it started to sting a little so I stopped.
1) Went back to Primary, he said he is out of answers on this, to go back to Urologist.
2) Went back to Urologist, he looked all over the place, inside, outside, he sees nothing.
He put me back on:
- Cipro 500mg 2x, 14 days
- Also prescribed Lidocaine Hydrochloride Jelly 2%, every 2 hrs as needed.
Office urine test shows some protein in urine so he's recommending me to Kidney Specialist.
3) I am ordering the Omnicide™ Balanitis Gel, at this point what the hell do I have to loose
4) And as stated before I will see if the candidiasis route works:
- Clotrimazole
- Econazole
- Ketoconazole
5) OTC Anti Fungal (Tioconazole Ointment (6.5%)
- I may actually do this sooner than later, not sure yet.
The $$ are really starting to add up on this c**p... If all of this does not work I may end up going to an Alternative Medicine specialist, maybe they can help.
I will let you guys know...
