Weird Irritation of the Urethra

Hello All I had this and now have it under control. I had a tingling sensation for 4 months. Also it often felt like a bit of a sting when I urinated or after ejaculating or even when I just needed to pee. The senstation was worst when I was lying on my side. Drove me nuts, had all the tests even cystoscopy. Tried a bunch of drugs. Then the urologist said it may be nonbacterial prostatitis and told me to try a supplement called Prosta-Q. It took about 4 weeks but it went away. It has been pretty much gone for 2 months now. If I skip the Prosta-Q I can sense the symptoms coming back so am going to stay on it for a while. So give it a go, it can't hurt. But remember it does take a while to take effect so don't expect a miracle right away.

Ask the doctor to check your prostate. I experienced similar problems about a year ago after receiving oral sex from my gf. All STD's tests came back negative and the tip of my penis (urethra) was inflamed and irritated. I also experienced that my anus was very red and irritated as well, felt as though it was chapped. The symptoms come and go and I have had it about two times. The prostate is like a sponge and attracts bacteria in the body. Once the prostate gland is inflamed, it puts pressure on the urinary tract which in return gives u the symptoms you have been experiencing. I usually get on cipo (antibiotic) 500 ml for ten days and that takes care of it until it gets inflamed again.

I get it nearly every time after unprotected oral with a new partner.  First time it happened I did all the doctor stuff, test etc etc and nothing but it went away after about 4-6 weeks, just disappeared all by itself, as though my body has taken care of it for me.  Second time, I tried antibiotics - same result - after 4-6 weeks it disappeared.  Now I don't worry about it any more because it heals itself in about a month.  I don't get any rash, reddening, soreness, discharge, cloudy urine, no physical signs whatsoever, just that little irritation at the opening of my penis.  If I'm busy at work or out having fun or a beer I don't notice it - only when I think about it, and it just goes away after about a month.

only thing that has come close to working or worked the best was trichamoniasis drugs took the stinging away

also stoped dicharge for about a week

very depressed when it came back

have a urologist appointment in about 2 months have to wait till then to get a camera up it :(

might try and get some different trich drugs

i think it is definately a parasite 

i had similar symptoms..itch/tingle in head of penis, inside urethra..i thought it was std..doctor said he thought it was infection of prostate..sure enough..he gave me the rectal exam..ouch..and took sample and found my system was full of pus..gross i know..put me on ciproflaxcin.symptons gone..good luck

If you been tested for STIs and tests come back negative it's possible you have Prostatitis.

It's not an STI but does usually require taking antibiotics for some time...ask your doctor or

a urologist. The discomfort your feeling in your urethra and the tip might just be referred pain.

Same problems here (tingling sensation/worse after urination or ejaculation/started one day after oral). I've been experiencing these problems for about 8 months now. I had all the standard STD tests and nothing came back positive. I had an Igg/Igm test for HSV-1 & 2 at 7 months (since encounter) and all four came back negative. I've tried Cipro (one month), Doxy, Flagyl, and I'm currently on my second day of Tinidazole, but none of the symptoms have subsided. Strangely, the doc but me on Valtrex for a month to see if the tests had given us a false positive. It definitely seemed to help, but it just seemed to lower the intensity of the irritation, not take it away totally. Then, as soon as I stopped taking the Valtrex, the symptoms went back to normal. Not sure what that means, but I'm going to get a urethral swab test to make sure it's not herpes. Obviously, I'm hoping it's something else, but I don't think I can just "learn to live with this." Although I hate that other people are experiencing this, it's good to know that I'm not alone. 

 

 

Same boat EXACTLY. Wondering if a new STD has manifested. Had protected vaginal intercourse and UN-protected deepthroat oral sex with Philippino escort in Hong Kong. All was well till 2 days later. Burning irritation while urinating, feeling of needing to piss frequently but usually little flow once I go. Immediately got tested for Chlamydia and Gonnorhea and was treated for both while results came back. Did the 2gram single dose Azithromycyn for the Chlamydia and Ceferin (spelling?) shot for the Gonnorhea. BOTH tests came back NEG. Symptoms subsided a bit after the initial dose of Azithromycin...... Took a 10 panel test (blood drawn and Urine speciman) which included HIV RNA and DNA test (1 and 2), Herpes (HSV IgG 1-2), Hep A, B and C, RPR (Syphillis) another Gonnorhea and Chlamydia and again, ALL came back negative. Tested next for Trichmoniasis Vaginalis (YES men can get the parasite!!!!) and AGAIN negative. I'm wondering if it might be calcium issue in kidneys or bladder? Symptoms persist and going to Urologist next.

I had similar symptoms and in the end it turned out to be HSV2 confirmed by blood test. Your dr. prob didn;t test you for this. Even when you ask for std screening they will only test for herpes if you specifically ask for it. Ask for an ELISA hsv1 and HSV2 test. I tried valtrex and some naturopathic medications... the only thing that worked for me was viradux-AU which cleared it up immediately. There is a good FAQ on their website too if you need more info on HSV1 and HSV2.

Your not lien. I been feeling the same way the past few weeks. Sometimes i squeeze or rub mine out. And it hurts a little to pee. And i get frustrated

Same problems, so scared it might be herpes. I also have a lump on my left testicle. Never been this scared.

Numerous doctors have told me that my symptoms (tingling sensation near tip of penis/random stinging pain in urethra) are reflective of any STDs. One of my doctors suggested that it may be CPPS which is a form of prostatitis that typically hits men in the 30-40 age range, but can affect men of all ages. I just ordered some Prosta-Q and I'm curious to see if that helps. I'll re-post after I've tried it for a few weeks. 

Had these symptoms once after a really great date.  Went to my doctor and he said there were no stds after tests but he said sometimes strep bacteria can sometimes be contracted on the tip of the penis.  He gave me an antibiotic and told me to keep it clean and try my best to rest the area.  Course this was after a lot of tests.
