Hi. I have a dog and I’ve heard that hip dysplasia is one of the most studied veterinary conditions in dogs. Because I’m worried about my pet, can you tell me what can hip dysplasia cause? Is it genetic or, some environmental factors can cause it? Thank you in advance for your answer.

No one can tell correctly, but people agree that a number of different factors can contribute to hip dysplasia. I can tell you that many factors work together to cause this disease. They are mostly combination of a dog genetically inclined to get this disease interacting with environmental factors that bring about the symptoms.
