Hi, few days ago I have decided to start to workout. I did some research and found out that I must apply a workout program so that there would not be any side effects. I went for this one. On Mon/Thu shoulders and back; Tue/Fri legs, biceps and calves; Sun/Wed triceps, abs and chest. Saturday is my off day. What do you think about my workout program?

Hi, it is true that, when you decide to start to workout, you must have some kind of a workout program. This is important because, as you said, side effects might occur. As a matter of fact, the side effects are injuries. Most of the time, injuries occur when you train a certain muscle too much and too intensively. This way you overtrain that muscle. As a result there are no more workouts for at least a week. As for your workout program, I think it might be too much for you. Working out almost everyday at the beginner level might be overwhelming. You should talk to a professional trainer about this matter. Also a very important part of a workout program is the number of repetitions and series you will be doing. Since you have not mentioned this, I must tell you to pay a close attention to this part of the workout. Again, if you are not sure what would be the best solution, talk to a trainer.
