Hi, my friend is suffering from stomach ulcer for several months and he has pretty big problems with it. His doctor prescribed him medication and told him it is proton pump inhibitor. I would like to know something more about it and what does it mean proton pump inhibitor?Thank you.
Hi, proton pump means producing of positive ions in stomach which are increasing acidity in stomach. By inhibiting this process we may lower ph of gastric environment and in that way to decrease irritation which acidity produces on gastric mucosa. It is one way how to help people with such problems.
