Hi: the occaisional spotting is quite normal for someone that has gone through menopause, there is premenopause, perimenopause, menopause, and post menopause!!! I found a great link for you below:
http://www.menopause-faq.com/menopause-stages.htm
Depending on how long ago your last actual period was, and if it has been more than a year, I think it would be a good idea just to get checked out by your doctor, just to make sure that it's not your ovaries. Notice that the 4 stages start with the word MEN!!!!! ;-) XD That's why I know God IS a Man!!!! A woman would NEVER do this to us!!!!! I wish you luck and health!

I'm assuming that since you're 64 that you are going through a bit of post menopause. I don't think that it is anything to worry about and obviously I think that bambi's link is a very helpful one to go to and I think it'd be good to book an appointment with your doctor just to ensure it's not anything more serious although I do doubt it's anything serious. Please keep us posted on what your doctor says and good luck to you!
