My sister was prescribed with flunisolide two weeks ago. She has always had breathing difficulties and sneezed very often. She uses flunisolide as spray for nose and it seems as effective. What exactly flunisolide is? Is that kind of drug that has to be used life long to treat these respiratory problems?

Flunisolide is used to treat symptoms associated to rhinitis that is due to allergies. I have started with flunisolide 4 months ago and am off of therapy in last few weeks because am free of symptoms. Persons that has low immune response and are likely to suffer from allergies sometimes really have to have life long therapy, that is fortunately, related to season and do not has to be used during the whole year. Flunisolide is corticosteroid and treats inflammation very well, reduces congestion, sneezing and postnasal drip.
