I had a Endoscopic Ultrasound done. The dr. said my pancreas appeared to be heterogenous. He also stated that no mass like lesions were noted and that the PD was normal throughout the pancreas. Could you please explain what heterogenous of the pancreas means. I do not understand any of this. Thanks for your help!

Well

I am not familiar with this term (heterogenous pancreas) so I presume that it is some kind of acute or inflammatory process like acute (chronic) pancreatitis. Since we are guessing it is best to say that this could be some other pathology as well.

Anyway I think that you haven’t describe it very well and since you didn’t understand what your doctor was talking about it would be wise to admit it and ask him to repeat and explain what this means for you.

You will probably have to do some other tests because if you have diagnose and no treatment that is pointing that you need some additional confirmation. I hope that you will get your answers and that you will share it with us.
