I am 16 and have osteomylitis in my foot. I have had 20 surgeries, bone grafts, full thickness grafts, 4 picc lines, 2 septic shocks caused by picc lines, and many months in the hospital. I am a nationally ranked junior golfer and need my foot in tip top shape. since my last debridment in june i have had 3 skin infection on my graft but they said it wasn't my bone. Any ideas on how i can stop the infection from occurring. My doctors have blamed me for every infection saying i wore the wrong shoes or i didn't stay off it long enough. it is a horrible condition to have. I have had to deal with this over the past 3 years while going through high school and competing for golf. College coaches are beginning to look at me and i cant have these infections carry over with me to college. Does anyone know any renowned specialist?
My husband received a horrible case of osteomylitis from a compound femur fracture. He was looking at having his leg amputated it was so severe. My husband has been symptom free since 1987. We were blessed with having the premier doctor of infectious disease medicine and internal medicine in our hospital. I'm so happy to give you his information and please google him and learn more about him, because he saved my husband's life.

Hi,
This post is for you, and anyone who suffers from this on a chronic level. I have had CRMO in my leg(s) since I was 9, I'm 27 now. I had some bone removed (for a biopsy at age 13) in the left leg which helped a lot, but it then moved to my right leg. For the last few years it has remained in my left leg. I was told I would probably enter full remission in my early 20's. I was in and out of remission every year starting in my 20's. I have taken so many anti-inflammatories over the past 16 years, I have ulcerations in my colon, and am unable to take NSAIDS without severe reactions. But when your in this much pain, you do what you have to. A couple of years ago, I was in much pain, cut off NSAIDS and on a waiting list to see my specialist, and decided to try alternative therapy. I saw a B.I.E. practitioner for my inflammation and was pain free within 24 hrs. I stayed in remission for 2 years. A couple of weeks ago, my pain returned again, so I figured I would test my theory again. I went for a BIE session yesterday afternoon and am now into my first pain-free day. Hopefully it will stay this way. I'm not a BIE practitioner and am not trying to sell anyone on anything. Everyone is different, but this works really well for me.

I have had a unsucessful surgery on my right shoulder (2011). Apparently, a bone infection in my shoulder joint has prevented the proper healing of the original injury. For a year now my arm remains weak and I feel constant pain. What damage is caused from a bone infection? Is the damage permanent? Are there negative consequences to this condition? Thank you
I have this disease too in my lower jaw. I took oral antiboitics and did hyperbaric oxygen treatments (off and on) for nearly 1 year. After 7 months, I was almost cured, but then it seemed like the antiboitics stopped working. I think I built up a resistance. I just had another biopsy and will do the hyperbaric treatments again. I will try everything possible to heal from this. The pain is incredible especially when I fly. I have a pretty intense job, where I travel quite a bit, and sometimes it's difficult to stay positive when I'm experiencing so much pain. It's really frustrating because I just want a solution now.
If you ever found help for your osteomylitis of the jaw will you please post? Thank-you!
Yes. I had it in my jaw. They tried IV antibiotics for a few weeks, but the end result was two surgeries to remove the infected bone, muscle and nerves.
I want to ask how to treat my osteomyelitis? This kind of disease is almost 5 years on my leg. Please send me your advice for the treatment.
I've lived with osteomyelitis for the past 41 years. Is there a chance that one day I'll get cured totally? And are there any specific foods I must be on?
I have a hematoma on my leg, just below the knee. It was from an injury. What are the chances that it could end up causing osteomyelitis?
I had osteomyelitis as a child and was told that I very nearly lost my right leg. Can this come back again, as I get a twinge now and again like it was back then?
