Good evening everyone. Please, don't make a laugh because I am going to ask you the next question. I live in the village far away from the city, far away from the city center. I am 37 years old and I have three kids. One day, there was some doctor in the village and the checkup was totally free. So I decide to go to see am I healthy. I think that I am not. This lovely doctor told me that I need to have a "pacemaker" and that I need to go to the town. Can you tell me what is peacemaker and how it works?

Hey there. It is normal to ask something that you don’t know. We are here to help you so don’t be afraid to ask anything that you want. I will try to explain to you so you can understand at the best way. A pacemaker consists of a battery or a computerized generator, and wires with sensors at their tips. Those sensors are called electrodes.. Well, this battery powers the generator, and both are surrounded by a thin metal box. The wires connect the generator to the heart. A pacemaker helps monitor and control your heartbeat. The electrodes detect your heart's electrical activity and send data through the wires to the computer in the generator. It is important to listen to him because you generally have a heart problem when pacemaker is needed.

Hey there. I understand that you are scared. But this is for your own good. Don't be afraid to ask your doctor whatever you need to know. He will be the best person to explain you. Look, it is pretty much very simple - a pacemaker is designed to mimic the heart’s natural pacemaker or the sinus node. The pacemaker has two main purposes – pacing and sensing. Trust us, it is for your own good. I have a peacemaker as well and I live really good so far with it. If you want to know something else, feel free to ask. Good luck.

Hello everyone. The main problem is because I don't even know how to use the computer, so my son is writing this for me. Well, of course that I am scared because I never had any kind of the problems or operations. But
thank you, I feel much better now when you are telling me all this. This doctor was very kind, he left his phone number to ask him whatever I need to know. So I will do it. I want to know just a couple of things - for how
long this procedure lasts and am I going to feel anything? I mean is it painful and what about recovery process? Tnx in advance.

Hey. When your heart does not work regular, you need to have a pacemaker. Somehow I do believe that everyone who are the part of this web site have pacemaker, or at least most of us. A pacemaker is actually a very small device that helps your heart beat more regularly than before. It does this with a small electric stimulation that helps control your heartbeat. Your doctor puts the pacemaker under the skin on your chest and it is hooked up to your heart with tiny wires. It is not painful, you won't even feel the procedure and I am sure that you are going to be ok. Good luck.

I totally understand your concern. When my doctor informed me that I need to have a pacemaker, I didn't eat, I couldn't sleep I was terrified. But now, when everything is over I can see that I was scared for no reason
indeed. I didn't feel the surgery, the recovery process was really OK. Of course, at the beginning I was sure that I feel my pacemaker and I was feeling a little bit different than usually. But at the end everything was fine. So don't worry. Of course, consult your doctor about it before, ask him whatever you need to know. He will tell you everything. Good luck.

Hey. Since we already inform you about this, you should also know thatafter this surgery you can have certain side - effects. Actually, medications can boost the heart rate and improve conduction, but if not, implantation of an artificial pacemaker may be required. So I really don't believe that your really need to have this surgery, maybe it can be treated with simple medications. It is just like any invasive procedure, there are potential side effects and complications associated with pacemaker implantation. Ask your doctor about them. I know that nauseous and dizziness are one of them. Maybe there are other but I don’t know a lot about it.
