please help i'm 16 going in for a laparoscopic gallbldder and apendix removal surgery on wednesday and im terrified of throwing up afterwards. o.O personal experiences?
First, let the anesthesia person assigned to you know your fear. The medications used now do not make most people as ill as they used to. They also give medications to ease nausea. The day before surgery, eat lighter meals, and stop all eating/drinking before midnight. Don't be afraid to talk to the nurse/ anesthesia providers. I have had surgery several times, and I got nauseated once right after I woke up. I let them know this and they gave me medications to help. Then I felt a lot better. You can also ask them to talk to you and let you know what they are doing before they do and I think you'll feel more comfortable about it all. I wish you the best.
