I am scheduled for a Cervical laminectomy. What kind of chair or hospital bed do yu recommend post surgery to aid in recovery. I had a 3 level ACDF last june and needing the proper recliner caught us off guard. Any recommendations for making the recovery more comfortable is appreciated.

Hello,

I don't know that you need a so called 'proper recliner'.  You need to make sure that you have head and neck support which can be supplied with a pillow.  This is not only true for the chair/recliner you sit in but true for your bed as well.  For the bedroom, try a contour pillow that supports both the head and neck region.  This prevents strain on the neck and back region.  As far as the a recliner, if you have a recliner just try each pillow you have in the house and punch/poof it to contour to the head neck and back region.  That is all that is required.
