I am a 42 yr old man and I have been having the same issues as most people here on the boards. Light headed, in a fog and cloudy thinking. I did all the blood test and everything came back fine. So…… it must be in our head from stress right? Well here are a few things I have tried and some of them have made me feel a little better. Before I go any further I want anybody reading this to talk to a doctor or do extensive research on things before they give my ideas a try because everybody is different and I am taking blood pressure pills and you may not be so please keep in mind that I am not a doctor, just a person with the same issues.

I decided to give Tia Chi a try. It is a martial art form that is suppose to ground you and take away stress. It is all about centering your body and mind. Now….. I only went to one class but I did feel pretty good after so you may want to look into a trial class.

I also started taking some supplements. I am trying Jarrow Formulas Vinpocetine 5MG which is suppose to make your mind work better. From all of the reviews I read people say it helps clear out the cobwebs in the brain. I started taking 5MG and after a week moved to 10MG. I am not sure if it is working, It might be helping a little. I am also taking TwinLab - Stress B-Complex Caps which is suppose to help with stress, after 10 days of taking them I’m also not sure if it helped but I know it’s not hurting me and if you do take them your pee will be bright yellow so don’t freak out. Maybe it will take longer to work so I will continue using them but I wanted to pass this info on.

I noticed that when I ate bread I did not feel so good so I have cut back on the bread which seemed to help which made me wonder if I might have Candida which is a yeast infection. I found a website that tells you to do a test at home but in all fairness this is from a site that is trying to sell you their product so keep that in mind. Here is the link.

There are many pills out there to solve this issue and I decided to go with Coconut Oil which seemed to help this issue and be natural. I am still waiting to get my order of coconut oil so I don’t have any results yet. Lets keep this thread going, maybe working together we can get a good results.

I've been fighting the dizzy, fainting, lightheadedness, panic attacks for over ten years.  Sometimes I would have the lightheadedness for several hours straight.  I’ve seen a dozen different doctors and they can’t figure it out.  I think they are putting something in processed foods that triggers an allergic reaction.  I started eating the big salads and drinking tons of water and it went away for 7 months until I pigged out on Thanksgiving 2012 and the big one hit two days later.  It feels like a big drop in blood pressure and a lack of oxygen to the brain (the feeling of impending death).  I’m going in to check for food allergies. Go natural; salads, water and light on the proceeded foods, meats, etc., and you should start feeling normal.

I have had the feeling of being light headed and on the verge of faining more or less on a daily basis for almost 2 years now. I have been to the doctors and they cant find anything wrong but it is nightmare every day. When i walk i feel like i am floating, if i turn my head quickly it is like my eyes have to catch up and focus, i feel exhausted most days and when i do any type of work i am on the verge of fainting.I feel worse when using an elevator/lift.

I have looked at every possibility as to why this is happening, i even thought that it may be Carbon Monoxide from my gas central heating system but was very disappointed to find out recently the system i have in my house doesnt allow for this to happen in any way, sad i know but disappointed this wasnt the cause.

I am thinking now that it is smoking and lack of exercise as i have not been working ofr a while now and dont do half exercise as i used to and also smoke twice as much.

Why do we have to suffer like this, i will let you all know if more exercise and no smoking makes a difference, if this doesnt work god knows where i will go from there. :(

I'm no doctor but, I too started about 6 yrs. ago with my first panic attack. I went to the hospital thinking it was a heart attack. Fast forward to March of 2012, I was diagnosed with hypothyroidism ( low thyroid ). I didn't take the med's proscribed since the thought of having to take synthetic hormone drugs for ever sounded awful. This past year has been very stressful which has not helped my body. This week I experienced another panic attack. For the last two days I hardly slept ,plus I am totally physically and mentally exhausted. I am experiencing symptoms of lightheadedness, fatigue, anxiety/panicky , an upper eyelid twitch and if I do the slightest bit of activity I am breathless and just want to sit. I have had all the tests related to stress and heart issues. Oh and yes , I too had an issue months ago with the vertigo problem in bed; doctor said that I did have an infection. It does sound like your problems could all be stemming from perimenopause/ menopause . I was 51 when I had my first panic attack. Since perimenopause can start 15 years before actual menopause , your age now could suggest this.Look up anxiety/panic and thyroid issues;they are all inner related. I am biting the bullet and giving in and taking those darn med's !  Good luck and God bless !

Misscee, I posted on this thread years ago and just came across it. I have been diagnosed with hypothyroidism but I still feel as if there is some oxygen/blood issue involved. Thyroid conditions are in my family history but NO ONE has had the severity of symptoms that I/we have experienced. I haven't ever taken my prescribed meds. Could you please let me know how you're feeling since. J

I am seventeen and this has been happening frequently to me as well. The first time it happened I was just getting out of the shower, the next I was brushing my teeth, and lastly in November I was visiting the hospital with a family member and passed out in the hospital floor. The emergency room doctor sluffed it off as just something teenagers do, but ever since Christmas when my heartrate increased suddenly I have stayed dizzy. I eat a balanced meal, don't take any medicines, but I do have Raynauds which causes swelling of the blood vessals I just want answers before I fall and injure myself or worse. Its seems as though doctors have no answer except it is normal but I would like to feel like myself again.

I too have many of these symptoms and am in my early 30's. After a year of tests and WAY TOO much self diagnosis, I went to a neurologist who did some tests and diagnosed me with neurocardiogenic syncope. In my case I only get lightheaded and some tingling in right foot and never faint so it is referred to as near syncope or pre-syncope. He said it is the most common cause of lightheadedness in people. He sees 2-3 people per day with it. I take 5mg of Lexapro and within the first week all of the symptoms subsided. Once in a while is sort of comes back but it is never even close to what it was before. Sunlight has an effect on it too and he says typically it is worse in the winter. Drink lots of water, don't eat too much and don't let yourself get overly hungry either; these all help to keep it under control.

There are different reasons for this. Some have serious causes due to heart disease but can often be fixed. See a doctor to rule out those issues. I am extremely healthy and fit but throughout life your body chemistry is always changing. He says often, this will correct itself with time but why suffer through it until then so take the meds and get back to normal. I notice too, that exercise and activity help too. When we stop obsessing over what is going, things often get much better, at least that is my experience.

Well i cant believe what i have just unearthed. Without realising it i was over drinking on a daily basis a very high energy drink which i have stopped drinking for a few days now and starting feel much better, almost normal (should i say this) I am almost embarrassed to say that it is now 99%certain that this was the cause of me feeling like my life was ruined. Although it has almost gone the twist is that my partner drinks the same energy drink but she is also a caffeine addict and has neither been up or down. I pray that its not eased away for a while and its not just a coincidence I stopped drinking that stuff at the same time. I just cant believe how i am now feeling after a very long time being miserable.

I believed it is not enough water. I start experiencing this lat year November while doing a exam. I just could not remember much and when it did passed, the exam was almost over. This week I am getting a lot of lightheadness and don't know what to do. I do a lot of walking and running, drinking water does not come as a must have for me because of my business schedule. I know that most of your age are young people, and I don't know if age and diet have alot to do with it, but I will try drinking water in intervals and monitor what happened.

Hi, my name is Mayra & I am 17 years young(:
I am ALWAYS feeling like this. When I walk I feel really lightheaded and I feel like I am going to faint or something. I run out of breath really fast. It happens more when i am around a lot of people at school & i just need to get out of the place. My mom thinks it is all in my head, but I guess not. Because I am not the only one here that has the same problems. I don't smoke nor drink. I DID eat fat foods & not enough of water I guess. Does anyone know what they have. If yes please let me know. Because when I went the ER they didn't find anything. my blood pressure was normal & stuff. & when i went to the DR. she told me I had High blood pressure & that's why I felt lightheaded. But If I was already feeling lightheaded & my blood pressure was normal, what else could it be? can someone please tell me? I search & search the internet for what it could be, but I find nothing. & as a 17 year old i am VERY WORRIED if what I have is a bad thing. & I always Pray for Jesus to make me feel better. <3

I have this same lightheadedness constantly. Driving USED to be the only time I did not have it. Now, I have spells while driving to and that makes it scary. You never know when it is going to happen. I can't think of anything that brings my spells on. I get them sitting , standing, lying, driving.....at any place at any time. Been going on for about 20 years but getting worse.

I probably posted this before, but one more time can't hurt.  I had the near-fainting feeling on and off for about a year and a half.  It was getting slooowly better, compared to my first couple of months, but still lingering.  Then beginning this past May I started a very intense exercise regimen.  Cardio every day (and twice a day 3 times a week), strength training, high intensity interval training, and the like.  In the beginning there were times that I felt I would pass out after exercising, but I stuck with it.  I also watched my diet and avoided junk and processed foods as much as possible (didn't eliminate completely, but cut down by at least 80%).  After about a couple of months, the symptoms went away.  It's been almost 7 months now with no symptoms whatsoever.

Now I know that everyone is different and this may not be the cure for everyone.  I also don't know if it was the exercise or the change in diet that worked for me (probably a bit of both).  But one thing is for sure: it can't hurt to try.  You will definitely feel better in some aspects, even if the lightheadedness doesn't disappear completely.  And don't let the fact that you are getting lightheaded prevent you from doing rigorous exercise.  If you are anything like me, you will find that it may not be the most pleasant feeling, but if you stick with it, it could yield results.  Of course, always consult a physician first.

same way with me.....its horrible. Mine started about 20 years ago too. I got hit in the neck with something and I think that may have caused something to get 'smashed' but they can't find what, probably some nerve. Driving used to be the only time i felt good but like you, it's happending now when I drive. Sitting at at stop sign or traffice light makes me feel strange too...just nervous and jittery. Have no idea what it is. I have a heart valve that leaks but dr. says that's not causing my problem. I workout alot, still am overweight but used to feel so good. Now, I stay so dizzy, i don't feel like working out even. Its hard for me to stand around and talk with people or stand in checkout lines. Always feel like I'm gonna pass out.
