I've been on Yaz and 2 generic forms of Yaz for about 4yrs now and I've never had a problem with the pill or my period except for the occassional no-show period.  That turned out to be nothing.  Last week, however, I noticed some pinkish-red spotting 2 days before I started my sugar pills.  I called the doctor and she said to continue taking the pills and that I should be fine.  By day three, it was really heavy and almost gushing out of me and making me very tired and flustered, which wasn't good for work.  I've had my period for about 10 days now and I've noticed that its finally starting to lighten up as opposed to the heavy bleeding it was for the 7 days or so before.  I had gone to the doctor, but she told me that because I had missed a pill at the begining of the pack, it could have started my flow early.  She didn't seem to listen to me and it was like she was almost blowing me off.  She told me to double up on my pills until my period went away.  To be honest, I didn't do that because that didn't seem healthy, not to mention, I've missed pills in the passed and took them the next morning and nothing like this has ever happened.

Basically, what I am trying to ask is what's going on?  Did I get pregnant and miscarry?  Is my pill just, all of a sudden, not working?  I don't really have the money to go back to a different doctor to get a different opinion, so I figured I'd wait until I have reason to worry.  A couple of my coworkers suggested taking a pregnancy test, but, I didn't see why I should since I'd've been bleeding so much.

Any help or advice would be greatly appriciated!

I seriously think that you should go get checked out by another reputable obgyn. Peace of mind is far valuable than the money you will have to spend to see another doc....in the long run. You are right, a preg test will not show anything at this point. Wish you all the best....!
