I was wondering when our body gets the blues. I would really like if someone could explain this to me. I usually feel blue from time to time, but lately more than that. What is causing us to feel blue?

If you are feeling blue most of the time you should definitely seek professional help. That could be a sign of something more serious that needs to be treated. Most of us feel blue and down when thing are not going the way we thought they would go. But feeling depressed for extended periods of time can indicate something more serious. Depression affects a person’s health both physically and emotionally and it leaves individuals more vulnerable to the effects of stress. This is linked to diseases such as heart disease and cancer. Often our blues can be temporary, which is a mild form of depression called dysthymia. Although mild, it can still affect people in significant ways. What is important is that you take control of your life and think what is causing you to feel blue. If you feel like it is not under your control and that affects your life, make an appointment with your doctor.
