Well the clumpy white stuff is just your body's way of cleaning itself. Some women have alot more white blood cells than others as in your case so the residue comes out looking like that. The insertion of foreign objects causes an increase in the presence of the cells so stay away from any form of sex for a while, i'm sure it will clear up.

I am a nurse, and the white clumps are mucus being produced by the body. Wmen who are in birth control this is as birth control causes The body to rlease hormones that increse mucus around th cervix so that sperm cannot get in. Also those who are not it is the bodies normal hormonal imbalance during different periods of your menstraul cycle.

Dont worry its perfectly normal. Do not over wash the area as dousching will definatly cause more ph imbalance.

Can you elaborate on this? How did you know it was an odd form of yeast? And, more importantly, how did you cure it?

That's interesting - I think betadine is iodine, right? I was just looking at the idea of iodine/selenium deficiency messing up our hormonal balance. But, careful with iodine supplementation as it can mess up your thyroid.

Ladies. This is normal. Nothing to be scared of. But if it's there more then 2 weeks. Go see your doctor. Also I have read in the replies above about scooping it out. Works for me too. Wash and scoop. We're all woman and our bodies are organisms so don't get scared learn your body. Will take months but it's good to know. Drink lots of water eat greens. Stay away from sugar as that does cause odors dwn there. I have studied mines and learned so much.

I was just on this!! Metro gel. The clumpy discharge started the day before I finished the 5 day metronidazole treatment. I suspected that that's what happened. I haven't had a yeast infection since I was a teenager and now I'm almost 40!.

My symptoms: clumpy, cottage cheese like discharge, no odor, no itching. Started on day 4 of 5 of metronidazole treatment.

Hist/Dx: I am not sexually active but I was and we ended it (unprotected) so I went to my OB and she said I have BV which I've always gotten since I was a teen (sex or no sex). She order the metro gel and told me to start taking probiotics, which I had already been taking for about 2 weeks prior to the appointment for allergies.

I think it was a mix of the metro gel and the probiotics that caused this.

Hey guys! I just would first of all like to say that I'm so so happy for finding this post! It's VERY reassuring to know I'm not the only one experiencing this weird discharge. I have no idea what caused it to start but I am not a fan at all :/ Me and my boyfriend mess around quite a bit. I feel as if my hooha (yeah, I said hooha) is somewhat irritated? Maybe from being fingered? I NEED A CURE ASAP! It doesn't itch, smell, burn, etc. I've been tested for yeast infection: negative. I was also treated for yeast infection and nothing. It's literally like wet toilet paper. I can SCOOP it out of me. It's decreased, but still there. It doesn't actually come out, but just kind of sets in me until I take it out. When I exercise, it's very watery. When aroused, it's normal and clear. To me, I think it is dead skin. I'm not for sure.. I think it may be from stress. For a while, I thought I was pregnant and stressed so BADLY until my period came. I came to the conclusion, pregnancy was not a realistic assumption, due to the fact that he never penetrated me. It may be from the stress. I also am HORRIBLE at drinking the recommended about of water, always drinking tea. Maybe I will switch up my diet and see if that makes a difference. Wish me luck! :) and PLEASE keep posting. I wish so badly to have a normal "hooha" again. :(

I've had this for three years, and only discovered what it is recently. Anyone who has these symptoms should see a doctor to rule out other kinds of infections, but I guarantee that most of us on this forum actually have a yeast infection. Because if these symptoms are not normal to you, it is not normal. I have had countless doctors just tell me it is 'normal' to have pasty, white, thick discharge all the time, making it difficult to have sex. This is not normal. When we go to the doctor and they do a swab, it comes back as positive or negative for the most common kind of yeast - Candida. Because family doctors usually just rule out the most common things, they associate Candida with all yeast, and don't think to check for other strains. These include other strains of yeast that don't respond to normal yeast infection treatments meant for Candida yeast. So what does this mean for you? Go to your doctor and request a yeast culture to determine if you have a non-candida fungal infection, or tell your doctor you think it is a non-Candida fungal infection (don't be deterred if they are confused, remember they don't come across it much!), and would like prescription treatments that are advertised to treat this kind of infection. Some studies have shown that the prescription cream terconazole, when taken for a week, can cure 50% of non-Candida infections. Another potential treatment is boric acid suppositories - you shouldn't need a prescription for these, and they're cheap. Just ask at your pharmacy - not all pharmacies sell them, so ask around. It is commonly suggested that women use one a night for up to two weeks (1 week is more common), though you should be careful because as a mild acid it can be heavily irritating. Don't take them longer than your skin can handle. If these two treatment options don't work for you, intraconazole and nystatin have also been shown to be effective. Good luck all!

I have a similar sexual history to you, it seems, and just sloughed a layer of tissue. I have a new partner, but we haven't had sex. he used his hand and mouth on me, so I've been more confused about what is going on. I am a registered nurse who has worked mostly in women's health, even more stumped. I think this is a very strong response to a new laundry detergent I used, I had a friend bring some over from a move. I used to get excema as a kid, and the rest of my skin started itching a couple days later, just like old times. It hit the sensitive spot hard and mean! Holy dang, I can't wait until I get better. I'm seriously hoping it was what was in the sheets!
