Since Monday I have had a fever not too high but I also have had this like pimple like or just bump near the upper part of my crack. Also around it sometimes develops a white creamy really smelly liquid. I don't know what it is and I am scared.

What causes this?
How can I treat it?
Is this really bad thing to have?

Other information would help me too

Thanks.

It sounds like the pilonidal cyst. All the symptoms, as well as the position indicate the presence of pilonidal cyst.

It is usually a hair that got infected but it is not known with certainty what causes it. It often oozes puss that is smelly and it may hurt a lot. It also causes fever, which is so strange but it does.

If the bump (that looks like an infected pimple) is infected with puss, you may try sitting in a tub with warm water to help the white stuff get out, so it wouldn’t have to be drained.

But if it is already infected, seeing a doctor would be the best. They will help you get rid of it by draining the puss and taking out the hairs.

It would be best to see a doc, so they can tell you how far it went and if you should take precautions or if they would take care of it.
