Hello, I just got back my chest x-ray results after being investigating for clearing my throat and tasting blood the other day.  This is what it said:

"There is a subtle patchy density seen in the right upper lobe projecting anteriorly which could be related to focal early pneumonia.  However, given the history of hemoptysis other possibilities cannot be excluded and an apical lordotic view is recommended.  Otherwise the exam is unremarkable.  No effusion or pneumothorax."

Could anyone give me some clarification on this as I haven't slept or eaten properly in 3 days because I've been so panic stricken since the incident.  Thanks!

Hi Guest,

Your results are inconclusive.  They want to do another x-ray, an apicolordotic view.  This x-ray focuses on the tops (apex) of the lungs.

See your doctor.

I wouldn't say it is a bad thing They've ruled out some things but you need more information. I'm glad you took the second x-ray.
