I was diagnosed hbp 8 years ago. I was on beta blockers at the beginning. My bp was well controlled with these medications. Last month my physician suggested me to start with zestril and stop taking blockers. Why should such a thing be done? Does anyone take zestril? I’d like to hear other experiences. Thanks.
I am on zestril for the same reason. It belongs to group of ace inhibitors. Some say that aceis are better and cause fewer side effects than blockers, especially in older people. Zestril may cause cough as adverse effect and low blood pressure as all hbp medications do. It works excellent in control of hbp.
