Absolutely true. I just drank like a beer and 2 glasses of wine. I blacked out, was extremely mean to everyone around me, said hateful things and did not make wise choices. I threw away the pillls this morning. This drug made me a different person. Do the research...it is a very bad drug. Don't listen to your doctors.

I am so glad to see your posting. I am having exactly the same issue. Never happened before, I'm not a big time loser, but when it does happen it is frightening. I spoke to my doctor, he said it's okay to have a drink or two but you have to eat to make sure that it slows down the digestion of the alcohol

I'm 21, on 50mg Zoloft, been on many ssri's over 2 years, DO NOT mix Zoloft/sertraline with alcohol! After 2 weak beers I buy crazy usless things on line and have no memory of the purchase, last week had 4 pints I ended up in fights and been arrested, many friends and family have recalled my behaviour as "out of character" I have very little memory of the night and following days, the most intense fragmented blackouts iv ever had, I only remember arguing with family, crawling down the road and been arrested for assault, next thing I'm in a police cell trying to recall anything else, I'm normally petrified of confrontation or aggression even when tipsy/drunk, stay safe and don't mix them!

I'm on 100 mg of Zoloft and have had 3 very serious incidents. Two physical fights with my fiancé one of which led to a big hole in the bathroom wall and broken glass in the door. He called the cops but consequently was arrested because he was fighting back against me and I had more marks on my body. The other incident happened just last night and I have no recollection of what happened. I made my fiancé leave me at a bar on our way to take our kids to his moms to spend the night. When he got back I was gone. I got picked up by the cops and arrested for public intoxication. Brought to the hospital to detox and ended up walking out and walking around the city freezing cold and drunk. My mom and aunt ended up finding me. This is not me! I have never done things like this! I'm done with drinking and plan to ween offzoloft soon

I had a very similar experience and it was by far the scariest night of my life. I was moderating myself. I had a drink and a half, I ate some food, I felt totally fine and actually last thing I remember thinking is that I should have stayed home because it was a pretty boring night and then BAM! I don't remember anything. Gone. Nothing. Apparently I got lost on my way home (a 7 minute walk) and ended up sleeping on a stranger's couch because I was cold. I had cops and dogs out looking for me all night and I was a block away. I have no doubt that it was the zoloft.

I had a very similar experience. I ended up lost for a few hours while cops and family and friends were out looking for me as I wandered around town drunk and cold. I had 1 and a half rum and cokes.

I actually thought it was fine to drink alcohol while on sertraline because my doctor said it was okay to have a few drinks. But this weekend I found out that it most definitely isn't. Having around 3 beers and i felt fine but then I hit 7 and started feeling panic really bad, I ended up driving home drunk. (something I would never ever do). I usually drink a lot on the wekends and can handle it. I had a depressive episode after. It might have been because I had not eaten anything all day idk. But I Wish I would've looked this up beforehand lol. I guess if you're gonna drink a lot on it you should limit yourself.

I wish someone could help me. My husband has been on Zoloft for 4 years. He is a completely different person. He's become a alcoholic he must have at least 4 16oz beers every weeknight. It effects him. Sometimes he just takes meds and passes out. Other times he becomes verbally sbusive towards me. Puts me down, calls me names, tells me I Fu@k everything up. All of it is my fault of course. Even when sober it's all my fault. He has a don't give a sh*t attitude about anything. Weekends are way worse. He starts dropping bling at 11 am. He was never like this before. I've tried talking to him with no luck. It's affecting our daughters 10 and 6 and I've started them and n counseling. He won't stop and he won't change. We were the normal traditional family. Very close raising our girls in the country and surrounded by family. I'm so lost. I just wish someone could help.

My personal expirence on drinking Zoloft is that all it does is make you drunk faster. It really isn't as dangerous as your doctor says it is. My doctor even told me it isn't that bad, it's just not good to mix obviously because everyone is different. But for me, 1 drink feels like 3. So I can drink 5 beers and feel gone. Usually blackout every time. Just make sure your in a safe place, and you'll be fine.

I had a bottle of wine the other night and blacked out completely lost an evening and a fair wack of the next morning. And felt like c**p for a day. (A bottle was 700ml).
Frightened the heck out am. I thought I was so loosing it.

Ive been on 150 mg Zoloft for about 8 months. My doctor straight up told me not to drink or she would not treat me. I like cabernet and craft beers. Anyways today my wife an I decided we are splitting apart. In the last 6 months I have blacked out (4) times. I told myself I would only drink on special occasions and after drinking/ usually the strong craft beer I just fall out. I dont even see it coming. Im just there one minute then Im not. My family, especially my daughters say I start acting wierd and have an awful glare on my face like i want to destroy the world. On Halloween I blacked out and made out with my Yoga teacher with my wife and freinds there. A week later I took off all my clothes or tried to and woke up the next morning in the hospital. I had put holes in the wall assaulted my neighbor and scared my family to death. Its been two months and my eye is still black from a fall I took. Not to mention I have $1k in hospital bills.My house is going up for sell. And I am going to be alone. 22 years of marriage. Be careful when you mix Zolft with Alcohol. Like I said I don't even see it coming.

I black out every time I drink on Zoloft, very violently. I have been arrested attempted suicide become completely delusional and recently woke up in the hospital naked with a 1 inch wide and a 3 inches in length laceration on my wrist. That I apparently randomly decided to inflict on myself while having a great night. I wouldn't test your luck by any means.
