I've been taking 25/50 mg Sertraline (generic Zoloft) 1x daily for about 5 yrs, and using cannabis daily for about 3 years. I take both for Anxiety/PTSD. I use the cannabis very heavily. Sometimes I smoke (bud/flour) or eat it (via making infused olive oil for food) but usually I vaporize it (wax hash). The only time I've had an issue with either medication, was about a year ago when I stopped the Zoloft cold turkey. I went without Zoloft for about 3 months. Which was dumb, as I should've stayed on it. Anyhow, point is, when I was off the Zoloft for 3 months the Cannabis made any negative feelings/thoughts VERY strong. I'm back on the Zoloft now, and using cannabis very heavy still, and feel great. For ME, the combo off the two provides the best result. For OTHERS, it might be different.

Zoloft can be extremely helpful, or extremely horrific. For example, my mom has been on it for countless years and I can tell it works really well for her. And then for me, it was literally the worst decition of my life to actually let people talk me into taking this c**p. It make my depression so much worse and my anxiety so so much worse. It has been causing me to feel completely emotionally detatched from my surroundings. For example, girlfriend who I would normally love, I feel almost no love for at some points. It's so horrible not being able to remember why you love someone. But overall this has just been a horrible experience for me and I've just started to taper off of it after 2 months. I would have done it sooner but it depleted my motovation so much that I didn't even care to get off this c**p. So really it's not even worth trying zoloft for a few month because It might just be the worst months of your life. Nothing feels normal.

Hello my name is Kayla Evans I'm on pot and zoloft right now and it hasn't really done anything but make me higher really but everyone body is different people react differently when I started smoking weed I had to already smoke 2 blunts of loud or like 4 blunts of mid to get high the doctor said my tolerance for stuff like medication is high even numbing medication. The real answer is either you can try it and see what happens or not do weed because your scared of the result when it is mixed with your medicine.

Hi well i must disagree with people on here saying pot is ok .Pot is not ok with or without meds. I have just witnessed my partner go into full blown mania, and let me tell you it aint a pretty thing for loved ones to see.He was on meds for depression for a few months when he started smoking weed. One night he smoked some pretty harsh high grade stuff the next day boom he was gone full manic episode, which has led him to be sectioned. Everyones bodies react different i know this, but for people who already suffer slight menatl health probs weed is certaintly not the answer.

A personal friend of mine actually blames their psychosis diagnosis solely on taking zoloft wholst smoking. I doubt that it's 100% because of that, but i would not rule it out. I find myself in the same position now as a daily pot smoker. Im about to start taking zoloft and i decided it would be best to just make sure i was sober when starting the meds.

Not true. Medical marijuana is actually used to treat anxiety and depression. There are two types of marijuana: sativa and indica. Indica is used to calm people down and helps many patients with panic attacks

You must be insane to think pot with anti depressants is worse than consuming alcohol with them.

I've been taking Zoloft for 5 years for PTSD, depression, and anxiety. I was taking 100mg for the majority of the time. Over this past summer, I tried slowly coming off of it. I got down to 50mg, while still smoking pot for the panic attacks. The only trouble I found with it was if I smoked and then took Zoloft, I would get really bad heartburn. If I smoked a few hours before, then took Zoloft I was fine. I would take Zoloft at night before bed.
