so im 15 and looked up why only one of my testes is in my sack and it is called cryptorchidism but i do not know if i should get this treated if i even can get this treated, any help?

Hi Guest,

Yes, this should be treated - ASAP.

It can cause fertility issues but also it can lead to increased risk of testicular cancer.

A urologist is your resource here.  This is what they specialize in.  Your pediatrician will likely not be of much help.

Please tell your parents about it.  This is serious.

Good luck.

darn it, now i have to find the least awkward way of saying , 'Hey, i have an undescended testicle and i i dont get it looked at, i have an increased chance of testicular cancer and fertility problems. So how was your day?' This may be harder than i first expected. Thanks Dan for the info, i owe any future kids that i may or may not have to you if i do get this looked at!

Guest,

I'm actually surprised it's never been discussed before. You must have had physicals in the past.

You could also try telling your parents it's a "guy" thing and you need to see the doctor but I think just flat out telling them is the best way. Yes, it'll surprise them but you're getting older and should be able to discuss this with them as an adult would.

Good luck guest. Let me know how it goes.

yeah im not too sure how it hasnt been noticed by them before, when i was 3 i broke my femur and there were scans and x-rays and alsorts that i would have thought would have also showed some signs of cryptorchidism but apparently not so now i have to do it the awkward way
