The recommended calorie intake per day is 1600 kcal. Of course you'll lose weight from only eating 200 kcals a day...you're basically eating nothing..

The best way to lose weight is through a healthy balanced diet and exercise. This diet is not only unhealthy but dangerous...and thats a fact.

I am currently doing this diet, and it seems to be working, i am loosing on average 4lb a week :-D
my brother is trained as a personal trainer and recommended against it, but i seemed to be at a point where eating healthy wasnt really working anymore although by cutting down and eating healthy i did loose 3st in 1 year. I find the 2,4,6,8 think quite easy really, i think its much more easy if u keep busy and think about it less.
I also run 5km a day and i'm doing fine, just make sure u drink plenty of water and u wont feel at all lightheaded :-D
i also find that popadoms ((excuse the spelling) are a great snack coz they only have 33kcal and although they are high in carbs its fine to eat earlier on in the day and run to burn it off later. I would also recommend porridge as a good filler, it has around 200kcal with skimmed milk and fills you up for ever, and again i would recommend exercising after u eat it to ensure u burn the carbs. I would also say dont eat carbs after 5pm unless u are going to really work out. thanx x

hi, well i have just started this diet today and it is very difficult. i am only fifteen years old and mentally i find this diet very hard. i am constantly trying to resist temptation and the only thing keeping me going is knowing it will be over soon. i know the risks of this diet but i am only doing it short term to slim down for the summer.

I'm 5'7" 113 pounds, anything BUT "overweight or even obese", and I have lost 15 pounds in one week on this diet. Yes, I was 128 when I started and I have kept it off for well over a year now. Everyone's metabolism is different and to basically call someone a liar because you were unsuccessful isn't right.

i've tried every diet there is to try, including the 2 - 4 - 6 - 8.

the problem with any and all diets is they are diets. the other problem is humans cannot maintain this type of food denial for long periods of time, with the exception of those who have eating disorders.

for those of us who do not have eating disorders, why diet?

if weight loss is the goal, eat healthy and move.

in my life, i've never read so many rules about weight loss.

you can eat carbs after 5....why wouldn't you? why shouldn't you?

your body is one of those 24/7 kind of organisms, because if it weren't, we'd be dead. metabolism doesn't stop. it may slow down according to the circadian rhythm it follows, but it doesn't stop.

take a walk. eat some healthy foods that have colour. shop the perimeter of the store and eat healthy fats. lose a pound or so a week and think positive.

i've always thought our biggest enemy when losing weight is impatience, frustration, and desperation, because that scale just won't move fast enough.

but, think about how long it took to put on the weight. seems we didn't mind that length of time; but, if we don't lose it all within a week or a month, we're pulling out our hair.

it takes a long time to retrain eating habits. obsessing slows weight loss down and can stop it. not eating enough can signal the brain that you're starving and the brain will signal the body to hang onto every morsel.

I too am on this diet, I felt a bit of hunger the first 3 days, but now a few weeks in, I just read up on what foods are good and I can eat good amounths of, without feeling starved. I was a bit cranky the first days aswell, but it stabelized. I indeed lost a good amouth of weight. And I'll stop the diet when I start my new swimming lessions, I'll need the enegy there.

This diet actually made me aware of kcals in foods, and got me on a healtier diet. I will be more aware of what I eat after the diet for sure, but that's just good. It was and is this far a good short term diet. Tho I'd always say think logically, if you're sick from an ED allready or are underweight as it is, it might make things worse.

I can't do that diet. Not that Im a pig or anything like that, its just that.. Well I hate eating everyday. If I eat everyday, I can't just set how many calories i eat that day. Either I eat a bite of something, or I eat a meal (that was prepared for me, of course.)

I mean some days I eat alot, then I eat very less or nothing at all for the next few days to through a week or so.
And I've been losing weight at a healthy weight I suppose. I mean idc if this is not a very healthy method, I just care about if its a healthy rate or not because if you lose weight too fast your prone to gain it all back, and you need to let your skin adjust to your new weight. Because then it will stretch, and droop, and be all bad. Its been about almost 2 months and ive lost 30 pounds. so i've lost at a rate of 4 pounds per week for about 7 weeks. that doesnt seem too bad.
But if you plan on eating back to your old habits (I dont!) then its better to be educated because thats how you gain it all back!
You can lose weight healthily, non healthily, or whatever way you can, but ALWAYS if you go back to your old eating habits, your going to gain it back. So be aware, Be smart, and Be active and dont just go on a diet but a lifestyle!

Keep in mind meat might have calories but its not about calories! its about carbs, starches and fiber once you narrow it down!
Meat has no carbs!
Your body converts Carbs and Starches into sugars that are either burnt or converted into fat if not used. Fiber is good for you, its indigestible and cleanses your system and helps you burn. It cuts your calorie intake in half. (meaning if you eat 4 pieces of wheat bread instead of 4 pieces of white bread, then your consuming half that you would if you ate the white bread.)

So be smart about it and dont crash diet, do something that you like, and that you can stick too and dont just diet to be thin, get into a lifestyle to make you healthy, and then you will lose weight and be .
fit.

I've started this diet today weighing 68kg/150pounds

I am 5"0 and weighed 57kg/125pounds but my eating has been out of control due to stress/stressing out about getting fat so eating more and getting fatter/viscious cycle!

Have tried healthy eating/exercise but need a kickstart so I can see/feel the weight loss as stuck in a rut

Today i've eaten tuna & bean salad 200cals (100g canellini beans, 100g tuna, red onion, garlic, white balsamic vinegar)
Payday tomorrow so can do a shop as you can eat a lot for a little if counting cals

Planning on excercising 45mins per morning on crosstrainer/treadmill/bike

Will post my results and eating/excercise plan at end of the week

7500 kcal (which is 750 calories) is easy to burn in one day. by just doing daily activity like walking to your car, grocery shopping, etc.
